Got into a car accident on Saturday afternoon (don't worry I'm fine!). I wanna tell you the story, and how I ended up pinging my discord this

🧵 THREAD (1/15)

Leaving gym after a sick lift session, on the way to Target for groceries before the stream. Traffic was ABSOLUTE SHIT and I couldn't get in the right turn lane to actually enter Target's parking lot (4 lanes total on my side of the median: 2 straight-ahead & 2 for turning-left).

Being in the LEFT turn-lane meant I had to either aggressively cut someone off to not miss my Target turn --or- opt for a U-turn later down the road and left-turn into Target.

(Traffic was particularly AWFUL at this time)

Approaching the U-Turn, realized it ALSO had 3 cars yielding to do the same idea I had.

A bit too congested for my liking, I wanted to drive further ahead to figure out safer, less traffic dense, options.

As I go to pass the U-Turn, some dipshit TRUCK is protruding into MY lane for his U-Turn. A SUV is travelling parallel w/ me, so I have no option but to suddenly stop!

I got rear-ended by either an inattentive or wreckless zoomer kid driving a 2000's Accord.

I've been in a car accident before in 2011 (not being my fault either), so I know this is now a ruined day & huge timesink.

"ugggghhh" is certainly right.

Rear view:

(I think I nudged my camera at some point loading stuff in the trunk. The camera should be pivoted 45 degrees higher to see driver as well in the footage)

Once the cops get there for the police report, the twist comes into play.

"I have a dash cam of the front-view and rear-view for you to review, officer."

"Oh, you do? 😲🤯🧠"

Me:

You see, in 2011, I got into a T-bone situation and this dumb bitch argued that I was "in her way" when she had right-of-way (total lie). Cop (probably racist) was a pussy that concluded we were "both at fault" in his report and it was total bullshit.

My vehicle was salvaged & the difference in payoff via insurance vs what I paid so far was ~$7000 loss.

Had to attend depositions & get fed bullshit loaded questions hoping to use against me as admittance-of-guilt WITHOUT COMPENSATION for work days I took off.

Shit sucked ass.

But this time was different — no "he said / she said" with police examining the impact photos. Once he saw the footage, the officer said to me:

"Alright, here's my card. Upload this to our ✨EVIDENCE SERVER✨ when I email you. Have a nice day."

100-0 match-up. GGs.

MORAL of the story: get a Dash Cam & Rear-View Cam. Car insurance alone is trivial [to prepare you for car accident scenarios] when you can still get fucked without absolute proof of your innosense.

Another $100 will save you MONTHS of the headache I endured in 2011.

Love it. Auto-records when your car is running & has parking mode for vibration-detection in case funny stuff happens.

Me and @blackantivenom are recovering fine. Went to the ER to make sure we were good.Felt some neck stiffness / scapula tension.

Was prescribed painkillers to take. Took it and hate it (shit makes me feel like a zombie; lifeloss), but feel stable now 👍
