Standby for an angry rant about how hard @Apple sucks since @tim_cook over. Purely from a consumer perspective. I’ve spent way too much money on Apple products, including almost 1,500 on an iPhone 12 Pro, which was absolutely the worst waste of money in my life
@Apple @tim_cook Here are about 50 things that drive me crazy while attempting to use my iPhone/other Apple products …
@Apple @tim_cook — ungrammatically changing the plural of a day to a possessive. I love Fridays always becomes I love Friday’s, which I absolutely do not.
@Apple @tim_cook — whenever I type a website URL, .com is “autocorrected” to .con. Like, seriously?
@Apple @tim_cook — takes about 19 minutes to load email on an iPhone. I have the gmail app installed just so I can actually use email. This is like AOL-level technology we’re talking about here.
@Apple @tim_cook — takes about 12 minutes to open an email. And sometimes, the Mail desktop program, emails open but the text is blank (even though it’s not). Only way to actually read the email is … open gmail.
@Apple @tim_cook — you can’t delete email (only “archive”). Why?
@Apple @tim_cook — ungrammatically changing the plural of a national identity into a possessive — Puerto Ricans becomes Puerto Rican’s every time. Apple needs to hire a copy editor.
@Apple @tim_cook — Copying an email address from an email takes about 400 steps and is only occasionally even possible
@Apple @tim_cook — it’s impossible to copy a single word from a text message (as you frequently need to do when being texted security codes for signing into a website)
@Apple @tim_cook — when you respond to an email in the middle of a thread, it always instead responds to the last email, which often has a different sender than the one you’re trying to respond to.
@Apple @tim_cook — about 97 percent of my emails go to the same 3 addresses. Despite this, they never auto populate whenever I start typing them.
@Apple @tim_cook — in the same vein, the “share” feature presents me with a few quick contacts, which are almost all people I’ve only contacted once and hope to never contact again. Like wtf
@Apple @tim_cook — on the MacPro, “Maps” won’t let you get directions unless you’re using WiFi. Why?
@Apple @tim_cook — The Mail app doesn’t let you download photos; you can only add them to iPhoto. Stupid. Sometimes people need to send images for work.
@Apple @tim_cook — if you’re sent an email on an iPhone and try to see which address it was sent to (if you have more than one) you can’t. Clicking your email takes you to your own address book entry. This often results in not being able to complete a basic task b/c you can’t verify the address
@Apple @tim_cook — despite updating Maps with my current address, the iPhone is constantly suggesting my “home” from more than 10 years ago.
@Apple @tim_cook — Clicking “add emergency contact” brings up your address book; however, there’s no way to actually select a contact.
@Apple @tim_cook — Created various rules to help de-clutter my inbox; despite doing so exactly as per Apple’s instructions, the rules stopped working after just a few minutes
@Apple @tim_cook — I called Apple at 7:35 AM to try to fix some of the issues above; a robot said their hours are from 7 AM - 10 PM and then hung up on me. You’d think a trillion tech company would know 7:35 AM is after 7 AM.
@Apple @tim_cook — Trying to use the “add photo” option on the Mail app results in my absurdly expensive computer freezing for about 2.5 hours
@Apple @tim_cook — Searching for an email on the Mail app often takes more than 10 minutes. I always need to keep gmail open so I can actually find emails I’m looking for
@Apple @tim_cook — similarly on the iPhone, searching for email can take several minutes. Oftentimes I search for a sender from whom I’ve received hundreds of emails; after seeing some results load, the emails then disappear and it says “no results found.” AYFKM?
@Apple @tim_cook — the screen record feature won’t record calls, which is obviously the main reason anyone would ever want to do a screen record.
@Apple @tim_cook — I don’t even need to mention Apple Maps; everyone already knows it’s malware that’s only purpose is to get you lost when you accidentally click it instead of Google Maps or Waze.
@Apple @tim_cook — The Calendar forces you to use Apple Maps if you want to try getting directions to your next appointment. Bad idea. (See item above)
@Apple @tim_cook Finally, Apple’s completely stopped innovating. The core business is exactly the same as when Steve Jobs died: iPhones, the App Store, the stupid watch, ... AppleTV. Even this long rumored Apple car was started on Jobs’ watch. I keep paying to upgrade yet service keeps worsening
@Apple @tim_cook What Tim Cook lacks in imagination he at least makes up for w/ insulting, woke corporate activism.

In conclusion, Apple sucks.
Another thing: When typing a new email address into Mail, the program will change it to a similar address already in your Contacts. If you actually want to send it to the email address you typed and try again, Apple will continue switching it to the one you don't.

As expected, CBS used this interview exclusively to attack Republicans, not once questioning AOC for embellishing her story. Actual journalism was carefully avoided.

In light of the NY AG confirming @NYGovCuomo has been lying about the death toll resulting from his ordering Covid patients into nursing homes, let’s revisit how he’s handled questions into this issue …
@NYGovCuomo In October, Cuomo said these deaths weren’t his fault, instead blaming the nursing homes' staff for “bringing” Covid into their facilities

"We’ve done a full study of it, the virus came into nursing homes from the staff.”

@NYGovCuomo Cuomo then pivoted to blaming the Trump Administration, claiming “federal guidelines:” resulted in Covid patients being moved into New York nursing homes
