An era in our history that is often ignored. The country sof Sierra Leone (England) and Liberia (America) were set up as colonies to return slaves. I was in Liberia during the war and this act of creating a gentry class still echoed in the violent war.
I was with the LURDs Small Boys Unit in Voinjama, child soldiers who kill and mutilate victims without hesitation. Children who gave me a severed head as a gift but would sit and quietly listen to me talk. Liberia is an example of how a war can end. frontpageafricaonline.com/news/liberia-t…
My point? The other key to lasting peace is not just to actively reconcile divided factions but to hunt down, try and convict the guilty who abused their power. Lasting peace only comes with justice. premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/…
