Press Statement By Lekki Concession Company Limited (LCC) @LCCTollRoad
Gentlemen of the Press,
Permit me to start by expressing our immense gratitude to you for attending today’s press conference at very short notice.
Even though we have maintained a stoic silence since the unfortunate incident of Tuesday October 20, 2020, it has become imperative for us to hold this Press Conference and talk about a few things.
Prior to now, we chose to be silent and not join the fray because we knew that tempers were still very high, as there had been a lot of misinformation circulating especially in the social media.
The All Progressives Youth Forum @APCYouthWing , is aware that the meeting between former minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode; the governor of Kogi State,
..Yahaya Bello and his Yobe State counterpart, Mai Mala Buni who also doubles as the Chairman of the Caretaker/Extraordinary National Convention Planning Committee of the APC has generated quite a presumably heated conversation in Nigeria's political circle.
The interest the meeting has generated is largely due to the politics of the person the two governors hosted and, of course, the image he has built for himself in Nigeria's political landscape.
From what I understand the Lekki Concession Company(LCC) has local and foreign lenders like the AFDB it borrowed from to develop the infrastructure. The dollar exchange rate is like x4 what it was when the loan was initially granted. These are verifiable facts
There are operating costs: Staff salary, diesel to power generator, even the epileptic EKEDC bill is high when available
Lekki Concession Company (LCC) provides FREE 24/7 emergency assistance, breakdown and recovery (the only road in Nigeria that provides these services for free) Road maintenance ( potholes, cleaning and verge clearance,)..
Kukah’s allegation of nepotism against PMB holds no water. Buhari’s appointments by geo-political zone as published by a leading online newspaper has debunked Kukah’s verbal halitosis.
The analysis showed that Buhari’s North West got 37 appointments, North East received 29, North Central secured 21, South West had 63, South East received 25 while South South got 24. South West benefited most.
But is Buhari a Yoruba man? He gave the South West almost double what he gave his own North West. Is that nepotism? We challenge Kukah and his merchants of falsehood to provide their own data.
The Northern Christians Forum of Nigeria (NCFN) has distanced itself from statements credited to Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto criticising President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
The group, in a statement signed by its President, Rev. Dr. Josiah Nabut, on Sunday in Barnawa, Kaduna state warned Kukah to avoid using the pulpit for political gains.
According to the Northern Christians, the cleric is derailing and shifting from the purpose of serving the laity and has now become a tool in the hands of politicians.
