(THREAD) Wow, @CJR and @LyzL. Why didn't you just ask me for proof of everything I told you? You thought I'd say things I didn't have proof of? What type of operation plans to question if someone is telling the truth, then doesn't ask them to provide the proof? Well, here we go:

(PS) I have maybe 50 2017 emails from Josh Meyer, Senior Investigative Reporter from POLITICO. Shall I post all of them? The details of our phone calls, in which he called me "one hell of an investigative reporter" and asked me to exclusively to provide my research to POLITICO?

(PS2) I declined, when Josh Meyer—Senior Investigative Reporter from POLITICO—told me his bosses wanted my research secretly, without my name on the articles even as a researcher. He told me POLITICO takes things from the internet all the time without credit, why not my work too?

I told Lyz Lenz if she contacted Luke Turner, he'd lie about his scores of contacts with me. She called him, he said he'd never had any contact with me. So why didn't she ask me to produce the emails I have from him? Here's one of the scores (just the start—his emails were long):

Everyone Lyz spoke to for her article said "he's an honest and conscientious person." So when POLITICO and Luke Turner said I'd given her inaccurate info, why didn't she follow up with me as she said she would? She didn't—and now @CJR has to run corrections. Such a waste of time!

Wait, what's this? Luke Turner admitting I brought Shia LaBeouf to the attention of Luke Turner—just as I told @CJR? Why not ask for proof? I always have it. My Substack is *called* Proof. I marshaled 12,000 sources for my books. They thought I don't keep records of *everything*?

This is oddest of all, @CJR/@LyzL. I told you all 3 Proof books were bestsellers—that's publicly confirmable. You had a fact-checker contact me—and the issue never came up. Then you wrote that Proof of Corruption wasn't a bestseller. Do you see why folks are doubting major media?

For some reason @CJR claims I called the P&W rankings "scientific." The opposite is true: across six years of doing them—and 75 pages of methodology articles—the rankings were consistently called "probative but non-scientific." Why lie about *that*? Link: pw.org/content/the_20…

(END) I could spend all day sending screenshots to confirm everything I've said. I keep records of *everything* and don't lie. Far easier would be for @CJR/@LyzL to take down the article, contact me, and do the fact-checking it should've done the first time. I'm waiting for that.

(PS) @MaggieNYT, a Pulitzer Prize winner, has tweeted out the @CJR article three times. Now that I've shown it's riddled with inaccuracies, will she un-retweet those retweets, or further prove that many outside major media are more conscientious about facts than those inside it?

(PS2) Now that Lyz Lenz has hung up on me after learning I had screenshots that proved her article wrong, and @CJR remains unreachable by phone because their mailbox is full, I'll do something for them that they wouldn't do for me: let you all know what their position is.

(PS3) I told Lyz that I didn't want to embarrass POLITICO, so I didn't want to expand on my reference to POLITICO to her. And I told her Luke Turner was, in my opinion, deranged, and so I didn't want to drag him into a piece on my journalism. She said she would call me back.

(PS4) What Lyz did was call *both* POLITICO and Luke Turner for contact—or email them, I don't know—and both of them contradicted me. And that point she had a callback to me already owed during which a journalist would have asked me, now, for the proof (as I'd been contradicted).

(PS5) Instead, what Lyz did was *never* call me back; *never* ask her fact-checker Andrea to follow up on the POLITICO and Luke Turner claims; and then publish her piece in a way that implies I lied about both POLITICO and Luke Turner and had no proof of my statements about them.

(PS6) When I called Lyz and told her I had proof, and asked her why she never called me back as promised, she started shouting at me. I said, "I'm not trying to start an argument with you" and after I said "I'm willing to listen to you" she hung up on me. That's what happened.

(PS7) Now this article filled with lies about me I can prove are lies lives online for years, and will be cited as proof that I *don't* keep receipts. Which means I must spend my time tracking down @CJR so they pull/correct the article—it's a waste of my time and just ridiculous.

(PS8) The sad thing: I was trying to protect POLITICO. And I was trying to protect *Lyz*. I told her Luke Turner has a history of stalking and harassing people online—Google it—and that I didn't want him to become a cancer in her life as he was in mine. And this is what she did.

(PS9) I'm heartbroken. I feared this would be a hitpiece, because Lyz had previously liked a tweet on Twitter saying "no one should ever take Seth Abramson seriously." I expressed my concern to her. She assured me it wasn't a hitpiece. Then she published provable lies about me.

(PS10) What's worse is folks like @ddale8, a fact-checker for a network I used to appear regularly on—CNN—are spreading this misinformation even after my thread today proves (with screenshots) the @CJR article is false. What a horribly sad day on top of everything else happening.
