I’ve only been out in the world less than 10 times in the last year. Worn a mask less than 10 times.
Went out yesterday.
People have gone nuts. The masks, the signs everywhere, restrictions; the general mood. Businesses closed everywhere. It’s an authoritarian hellscape.
Totally nonsensical and non-scientific wackiness in the name of “science”. I heard you can get a massage or facial but you still have to wear a mask - that’s just pure nonsense. Wearing masks when jogging or walking alone is insanity.
We have kids in schools with useless plexiglass barriers - arrows drawn on the floor telling people where to walk. People being arrested for walking down the street. Vendors refusing US dollars with the excuse of concern over inflection.
College kids are getting tested weekly.
Positive tests have become the new fear. Authorities point to test numbers as if they are some sort of meaningful or relevant science. “Oh no more cases”. When many “cases” show NO symptoms. In Canada they are locking people up. Some of them with no symptoms or test.
Normal, healthy college students who we know are subjected to inhumane and whimsical restrictions and a regime of continual invasive testing. When they get a “positive” they are restricted to special dorms. Many never having been sick. Think about that.
People know it’s all theater - they make a show of putting a mask on because it’s expected and a signal. It’s gone far beyond protecting from a virus.

Meanwhile we’ve seen that the virus is not nearly as deadly or dangerous as we were told.
Predictions of doom and the ridicule that places like FL have received for not having the same restrictions as other places have shown to be unfounded. There was not only no mass death as predicted in places like GA & FL...they have no worse results than the lockdown states.
How long do we keep this up?

Do we enter a new era of tyranny forever? Do we simple sit by and let politicians and hysterics destroy all freedom? Are we to live in a broken economy, state run prison of bio surveillance and sit around remembering what freedom was like?
These policies are insane. They must stop.

The path we are on is a dangerous one that is rife for abuse. We are allowing the state to march down a road where politicians can simple jail people because of something that cannot be seen.
Sick until proven innocent is the new witch trials.

If history is any judge no reason to believe the politicians will give up their new vast powers unless we fight for our freedom.
While the benefits non existent, the costs of this are enormous and profound: suicides, ruined businesses and lost jobs. We lose freedom and increase suffering.

We can end it any time we choose.

YES DECENTRALIZED LEDGERS CAN FIX WALL STREET

Send your champions - I will debate anyone on this.

It’s a complex topic not well suited for tweets.

But yes, much of this is solved by DLTs.

Root issue is a bad ledger & trusted 3rd parties.

A database can’t fix this.
A database is what we already have on Wall St and it’s a mess.

Understanding how to fix it first requires understanding how it works now (it’s counterintuitive). It’s a mistake to assume it’s an easy fix with “a database”.
A solution has to solve the problem of hundreds of various parties not trusting each other and complex high volume reporting and other factors.
It’s all about saying what is true in an untrusted environment.
Blockchains are actually good at that.

1/ While the costs of public K-12 schools (average $16k / yr per student) is an astonishing ripoff to the taxpayer, it pales in comparison to higher education - a scam that has reached such epic proportions it may end up in history books.
2/ The College Board, US News & others publish various numbers but data averages from $20-35k for public in state schools to $35-45k+ for private colleges.

As with K-12 the spending is absurd.

A good chunk of this also comes from taxpayers.

3/ Taxpayers support the public universities directly & taxpayers also support private colleges & the overall system through student loan guarantee programs & special spending.

Colleges don’t have to pay taxes like almost every other enterprise.

Khan Academy is free. MasterClass is $180 a year.

The Zoom classes your kid is taking costs taxpayers an average of $16,000 per student, per year.
In California they spend over $20,000 per student for K-12 public school.

So a class of 20 students on Zoom costs the taxpayers over $400,000.
Lots of people who earn money from this system are offended at these posts which simply state the prices. Of course they are defensive... the numbers are damning. Everyone knows it’s a scam.

“But teachers are important / work hard” — not the point - the price is unfair
