How to find good startup / business ideas [thread]:

You don't need to daydream the next big product. And you don't need a 20k email list to start.

Ideas are out there right now that are worth pursuing.

Here is how to find them 👇
1. Review Sites

Sites like G2 / Capterra host reviews on biz software & services.

Look in spaces that interest you & find what people DISLIKE about current products and services.

These aren't just negative reviews. They're opportunities to create a better solution. Image
2. Hiring trends

Service businesses are abundant, but so is market need for them.

Look at job boards and find the most commonly sought after positions.

Turn that position into an agency or freelance and you've got a curated list of potential clients in need. Image
3. Quora & Reddit

Quora and Reddit are great places to spark and see natural discussion.

Type in a topic you have interest on.

Read what real people are complaining about and formulate a better solution than the market currently offers. Image
4. Buy a business

Platforms like @microacquire, @Flippa, @sideprojectors, @indiemakerco, and many more have tons of ideas & actual businesses up for sale.

Browse them regularly. Look for products / services that interest you.

Buy an already developed idea and get to work!
5. Get sweaty (h/t @sweatystartup)

Search for local job posts.

You'll find a dozen services requested in high volumes, from plumbing to lawn care.

Accept the job, find solo specialists to fulfill the labor, profit the difference.

Then, scale it into a full-fledged business.
