Dating is one of life's most important skills and yet no one teaches it.

SO...

Here are 7 must-read books that will dramatically improve your dating life.

(thread) 🧡 Image
0/ Intro

Who you decide to spend the rest of your life with is probably the most important decision you'll ever make.

BUT...

No one teaches you about how the dating process works or how women view dating differently from men.

Fortunately, these books are here to help.
1/ "No More Mr. Nice Guy" by @dr_r_glover

If you've ever been called a "Nice guy" this book is for you.

The truth is that Nice guys aren't actually nice (I was one once).

They act nice because they believe they're saving up points to cash them in later to "buy" your love.
Making hidden contracts is just one of the ways Nice guys aren't nice.

This book will teach you how to:

β€’ Set healthy boundaries
β€’ Stop seeking approval from others
β€’ Be masculine in a positive manner

Don't be a Nice guy, instead be a Good guy.
2/ "What Women Want" by @TuckerMax & @primalpoly

This book has the best of both worlds:

β€’ Tons of real-world dating experience from Tucker
β€’ Tons of research and data about dating from Geoffrey

It's an excellent dating 101 guide for finding and attracting women.
You'll learn how to:

β€’ Develop attractive traits
β€’ Display attractive proofs
β€’Β Shift the mating market in your favor

And more.

It's filled with great stories as well as a ton of scientific studies to back up the authors' advice and mating strategies.
3/ "A Billion Wicked Thoughts" by @ogiogas & @SaiDrGaddam

What can a billion porn searches tell us about the differences between male and female sexuality?

A LOT.

Ever wonder why men watch porn but women read porn (romance novels)?
Why women are attracted to vampires and werewolves?

The difference between a woman's sexual fantasy and a man's sexual fantasy?

Why women worry more about emotional cheating but men worry more about physical cheating?

This book will explain why and so much more.
4/ "Mars & Venus On A Date" by @MarsVenus

Did you know there are 5 stages of dating?

I sure didn't.

Well here they are:

1) Attraction
2) Uncertainty
3) Exclusivity
4) Intimacy
5) Engagement

In each stage, Dr. Gray shares common mistakes for why things may not work out.
The book shares advice on:

β€’Β How to pursue women without being needy
β€’ How men and women experience the 5 stages differently
β€’ Common mistakes that lead to breakups
β€’ How to flirt and communicate with women

And much more. Highly recommend this for both men and women.
5/ "Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus" by @MarsVenus

This book is an in-depth guide into the minds of both sexes.

It literally translates "girl talk" into "guy talk" and vice-versa.

For instance, men and women interpret complaints and compliments differently.
The book also explains:

β€’ Why women sometimes want men to just listen without trying to solve their problems
β€’ Why men like to have their space and retreat into their cave
β€’ Why men are like rubber bands while women are likes waves

Another must-read for both men and women.
6/ "The Man's Guide To Women" by @GottmanInst

John and Julie Gottman have spent 40 YEARS studying relationships.

This book explains how to attract, satisfy, and succeed with a woman for a lifetime.

The book is filled with a ton of advice on what to do and what NOT to do.
For instance, the 4 Horsemen of a bad relationship are:

1) Criticism
2) Defensiveness
3) Contempt
4) Stonewalling

You'll also learn what to do when your partner is upset or feeling insecure. If you want your relationship to last, read this book.

Then read it again.
7/ "The 5 Love Languages" by @DrGaryChapman

The lesson from this book is simple yet impactful.

There are 5 different ways people express their love.

It's important to know your own love language as well as your partners to maximize the success of your relationship.
You'll learn about:

1) Words of affirmation
2) Acts of service
3) Receiving gifts
4) Quality time
5) Physical touch

I'd recommend taking the online quiz to find out you & your partner's love language then reading the book for more details on how to better express your love.

I recently finished β€œHow To Talk To Anyone” by Leil Lowndes.

It's probably the best social skills book I've read since "How To Win Friends & Influence People" by Dale Carnegie.

Here are my top 10 favorite lessons from the book:

(thread) 🧡 Image
1) Accentuate The Positive & Eliminate The Negative

When first meeting someone, keep the conversation positive & don't reveal your shortcomings (AKA keep your skeletons in your closet).

You can always talk and have a good laugh about the skeletons later in your relationship.
2) Kill The Quick "Me, Too!"

Whenever you have something in common with someone, don't interrupt with a quick "Me, too!"

You'll kill their flow.

Instead, wait for them to finish speaking before revealing your shared interest. The person will be more moved & impressed by you.

Reading is an art but it's also a science.

Here's the equation to reading more:

β€’ Reading = A x R x T

A = Ability to focus
R = Reading speed
T = Time spent reading

If you want to read more, simply work on increasing one of the variables.

(thread) 🧡
A = Ability to focus

The more you can focus on your book, the more reading you'll get done.

If you're reading 25 mins a day but you're getting distracted by your phone every few minutes, you're not actually reading 25 mins a day.

Limit distractions and focus on your book.
R = Reading speed

This is the variable you should be least concerned about.

The best books make you read slowly and think deeply.
Even if you learn how to speed read, you can't learn how to speed think.

Spend more time improving your focus or increasing time spent reading.

A simple system @JamesClear uses to read 30+ books a year.

(thread) 🧡 Image
The problem:

"Reading books is relatively easy. You simply have to make time to read. Easier said than done, of course."

The task:

"I had to figure out a strategy that would allow me to read more books without letting typical distractions get in the way."
The solution:

"Read 20 pages to start the day."

The system:

"I usually wake up, drink a glass of water, write down 3 things I'm grateful for, and read 20 pages of a book. At that pace (7 books per 10 weeks) I'll read about 36 books in the next year. Not bad."

Throughout my early 20s, I struggled with depression.

Here are 10 simple habits that helped me achieve a better state of mind.

(thread) 🧡
0/ Disclaimer

I am not a licensed medical professional.

If you need help, please seek a counselor, therapist, or mental health treatment facility.

There are also plenty of free hotlines open 24/7 if you or someone you know needs to talk to someone.
1/ Journaling

Journaling is self-administered therapy.

You're having a conversation with yourself and sharing what's going well in life and what isn't.

It's free and available to anyone.

And just getting problems onto paper will help get them out of your mind.
