After something like 25 years I'm trying to switch away from @Verizon to @TMobile. Not going well. Order# 7108453467 from 02/05/2021 at 03:39 AM PDT has disappeared. I live by my phone. Just want a good partner. Feel like phone companies are the new "car salesman".
@Verizon@TMobile For instance, is it weird that I feel like if I call up the sales person, or chat with them, or just use the website myself, I have this crazy idea I should get the same pricing? My experience. Each person gives me a different quote. Always gaming the price it feels like.
Then there was the "free tablet". Except for the $20/month you pay for the service. You know, a $240/year tablet, not a free one.
@Verizon@TMobile Then there was the experience of chatting with someone. When I thought I was ready to buy, I had a price +$100 from what I was looking at on the site. I dropped the phone call. Magically they called back saying they had found a way to reduce the cost. Ug.
@Verizon@TMobile For the record, cause why else tweet all this, T-Mobile is about $100 cheaper a month than Verizon would be as I add another line. Surprised Verizon didn't try to compete. They did one of those car salesman maneuvers, trying to make it seem the same by upping the lease time.
@Verizon@TMobile One hour later, no response to my chat. Luckily the twitter crew for T-Force has responded to me. Maybe I'm writing this for my wife, who always thinks I'm full of it, when I try to explain how these things go sideways.
@Verizon@TMobile I appreciate @TMobileHelp for making headway on this. After multiple attempts and 90 minutes today, now know ship till 3/4. Could go on about how phone not on backorder was 2 ship early. 1 more of those car salesman promises. Hoping my service goes better than onboarding
@Verizon@TMobile And finally, as we tie this all up, let's note that we heard nothing from the big V. 25 years guys. Literally a customer of yours longer than you have been Verizon (grew out of Airtouch Cellular in CA). All the phones, high end services, warranties, and loyalty means nothing.
@Verizon@TMobile Kind of excited to do this on a conversation I'm having with myself on twitter. What will it look like? Um, @threadreaderapp , unroll please?
