My theory is that Clubhouse's popularity comes from the fact that the barrier for entry to attempt to be an influencer is relatively low compared to YouTube, IG or even Twitter
No need to produce perfect videos or photos. Just start rooms and talk a lot
People say we're living in the creator culture/economy but to me it's really the 15 minutes of fame economy. Everyone wants to be an influencer
Also unlike other platforms there's no real accountability mechanism. So you can say whatever and unlike Twitter where people stay with receipts you can just....keep talking

Does anyone else just have moments where the full weight of the realization that the federal government has abandoned us during a pandemic hits you?
I mean I think about the pandemic all day and am constantly figuring out how to best be of service but sometimes I’ll just be reading or drinking a glass of wine and the full weight of this moments hits me
