The way I hate seeing people insinuate that because someone is not in the country they can’t contribute speak on happenings in the country because “you’re in Canada/USA/China egging people on” 🤦🏽‍♂️

Do y’all know how many of us are passionate about the country because we want to be able to have a locus standi & proud of our own home nations?
When Trump was creating harsh immigration policies, I met people that had sleepless nights because they didn’t want to have to get deported. Some considered slipping into Canada, illegal marriages etc JUST so they can live subserviently here instead of living as Kings in Nigeria.
Many of us have friends, family, and loved ones back home.. we can’t whisk everyone over here in a fell swoop and no matter how much we send home it won’t do much good in a broken environment where sanctity of life is a myth.
You say “you’re abroad so you should come back & lead.
..the charge if you’re serious”. And you think the only way to support a movement is physically? Much of the financial contributions to the #EndSARS protests were abroad remittances in cash & bitcoins.
They came after that source by banning cash & bitcoins, & we’re suffering it
Even more than y’all home because to conveniently send money back home to our loved ones na serious war.. so it’s not only y’all that bear the consequences. I, for one, know how much I contributed in support of the protests which saved lives and provided food on ground.
So don’t give me that nonsense.. don’t act like those in diaspora don’t have a crucial role to play in every movement.
We saw Nigerians all over the world demonstrate & create international awareness on SARS oppression; that’s not trivial.
Don’t be stupid abeg.
A lot of people subtly hint it to me & I ignore or retort with light sarcasm, but not anymore.
If you come at me with that I will honestly insult you and your family, go as low as possible and block you since you want to be deliberately idiotic.

When analyzing the civil war, I think it is even more important to highlight the causes and events leading up to it.
The war wasn’t primarily a war of egos, it was a war of survival.
Like Ojukwu said “the success of failure of the war would be defined by if we survive it”..
Not conquered territory. The entire locus of the war was that are not annihilated as a people. The pogroms in Northern and Western Nigeria made it imperative that we were no longer welcome in the union and we basically fought to leave and remain alive.
It was a war of self determination, primarily. Watch the interview granted by Cyprian Ekwensi, the Biafran chairman of the Bureau for External Publicity and director of Biafra Radio, the motivation behind the war was to avoid being exterminated as a race.

In 1692, Queen Nzinga of Ndongo went to Luanda to negotiate with the Portuguese on the royal family’s behalf.
The Portuguese, who was seated, expected her to sit on the floor. Affronted by this, she commanded one of her male attendants to go on all fours & she sat on him instead.
This was when European women were still banished to the kitchen and not allowed to speak in the presence of men.

A while back, an Israeli surgeon had a heart disease patient in need of a heart transplant. On one of their consults, the patient boasted that he’d be getting a transplant in a month.
Now, anyone in the medical circle knows this isn’t how transplants work.
