Because we don't have our magazine yet, this is my review of @chukaobi 's Coat Of Arms π
The Beats, Mixing & Production ππΏ Can't tell me Rick Ross didn't executive produce this album.
The Resistance ππΏππΏππΏ
That "Let the whole family come, we contraceptives" line π
Dragging the Headies on the 2nd verse of Coat Of Arms π
IllBliss. Triumphant shit!!! ππΏ
That old school vibe on Negus. Be like all those '03 By Popular Demand CDs. Only old heads will understand π
Suspekt on the MiX!!!!! ππΏ
Why wasn't Burna Boy on New Era Fela, please? π
Because this joint was by the "New Era Fela without the women and weed" Ayakata!!! π
MajorBangz, my God!!!! πππππΏππΏππΏ
Hugo Bros & Buga Tees sounded like a Victory Dance. Those horns!!! ππΏ
Dragging all of us on the second verse of Shame π
E say na Bobby E Banging was just God!!! πππ
When Beggars Ride be like song wey dem dey use obtain people π Can't tell me whoever sang that hook wasn't holding a cutlass in the studio π
That Okukuseku Yellow Sisi sample ππΏ
Skeleton Keys was for the woman selling fish down at the creeks ππΏ
"Obatago, biko ebezina!!!"
Was that Stormrex on In Due Time? πππΏ
I think this is where he did his best rapping. The flow was awesome.
"Are you a looter eh eh?" I'm not even supposed to laugh but lmao π€£π€£π€£
"Na feel at home na it dey make visitor spoil remote "π
When will Suspekt and Erigga work together? You can sense the chemistry between spirit animals. It would be pure madness.
"SARS say I be suspect so they start to sound me." This triple entendre (SARS, Sarz, DaSuspekt) π
Whether you like it or not, the production game in Nigeria is crazyyyyy. I mean, it's everywhere on this album, but Judgement Day is just!!!!!!!!!!!
@chukaobi who be that girl wey dey sing "blood on the danceflooooorrrrr"? I wantu marryπ
Who produced Anikulapo abeg? π¨π₯
The intro on The Renaissance ππΏ
You're tempted to just focus on the rapping but then the production on this album is so damn flawless you're torn in between.
You want to call this album an underground classic because of the relentless rapping, but the beat selection, the sampling, the features, the musical choices, the arrangement, the innovation, the ability to add some mainstream goodness to the overall feel just shows...
...this is a masterpiece by a music connoisseur extraordinaire.
A wholesome album.
Mad intro, mad middle, mad outro. Even energy.
Smooth tracklist.
Greasy flow to the end.
No skips.
And I had the opportunity to listen to Revolutionsits. @chukaobi is something, man ππΏ
