Progress on the Silent Visual Alarm. The idea is when the timer is up, the Llama window will flash red. So even if you have the sound off, it should catch your eye. Also works well if Llama is partly obscured by other windows as you can still see the flash..
As I started to add the Visual Alarm to Settings, I realized how much Settings has grown. Was getting confused, which being the maker of the app is never a good sign! Quick brain dump in @notion and have re-organized everything into categories. Feel better now! ๐ Old vs new
Ok, the Continuous Alarm feature is done, and has been added to Settings! ๐
You can also run this together with the Visual Alarm so there's no chance you'll ever miss it!
Might have to pour myself a drink now. Bad headache after repeatedly testing flashing lights and sound ๐ป
Working on 'Nag Alert', the last feature I committed to finishing this week! So far on track.
๐ As the name suggests, the alarm will sound when the timer is up, then 'nag' you every minute after that to make sure you don't ignore it.
This is an example of it going off every 5 sec. In reality, it would go off every min after the timer is up (until you stop it)
The purpose is to remind you that the alarm has gone off (in case you get distracted and forget) & it's time for the next task.
The thing which took the most time was actually figuring out how the user interacts with it, eg how the user is notified, how the user turns it off, and how the Nag Alarm interacts with the other alarms..for example you can't have a Continuous Alarm and Nag Alarm at the same time
3 out of 3 new features done! ๐ Feeling happy with progress this week. Now some testing over the weekend and immediate release after that.

๐ Hi, I'm Marie. I used to work in advertising/branding, but during COVID taught myself how to code. In 1yr, I learned enough to launch my own SaaS product. Still learning every day, but hoping this can inspire others who are looking to make a career change. It is possible ๐งต๐
It won't be for everybody but if you're on the fence about switching careers or learning to code, I'd definitely recommend exploring. You don't need to quit your day job straight away, you can just dabble to see if you like it. The important thing though is to dabble every day.
I learned by doing a short course on Udemy and then supplementing that with a ton of YouTube videos. My biggest recommendation is to figure out your learning style. This was my 2nd attempt - the first time I tried by reading programming books and failed b/c I'm just not a reader
