THREAD This week is Palestinian Child Solider Week. It is a week to highlight the stolen childhood of Palestinian minors who are turned from innocents to militants. This thread will list key figures and end with an ask to write to UNICEF asking them to prevent this violence (1)

Children in the UK go to summer camps and enjoy arts and crafts, sports, arts and dance. Approximately 10,000 Palestinian children and teens are trained each year with terrorist “summer camps.” They should be #kidsnotsoldiers (2)

In organised riots in Gaza, Children are bribed with as little as $83 to rush security fences and try to sabotage them. They are used as human shields, protecting and turning into militants. They should be #KidsNotSoldiers (3)

Palestinian organisations & authorities regularly praise child militancy in official press statements. Child militancy is perceived as positive & honourable. It is anything but. No honourable adult would allow their child to be anything other than a child(4)

Not only are Palestinian organisations robbing their children of childhood, they are also robbing these children of their lives . By 2012, at least 9 children were buried alive and killed while digging terrorist tunnels (5)

In 2015-16, 30+ minors were enlisted to commit stabbing attacks. These still continue today. On January 26th this year, Atallah Mohammad Rayan, 17, died while conducting a stabbing attack (6)

On December 21st 2020, a 17 year old travelled from Jenin to Jerusalem to commit a shooting attack during which he died. Hamas praised the actions of the teenager (7)

Palestinian child militants range from 9-17. They have been used as soldiers, auxiliaries, militants; PROPS! These young children have been used as nothing more than bait instead of being allowed to be children. They should be in school uniform not uniformed as soldiers (8)

As adults we have a responsibility to protect children, to look after them, and to keep them out of danger. Palestinian child soldiers have not received this basic right. They should be throwing balls to each other, not rocks at people's cars (9)
