While the worst of the storm is over, the work to restore power continues and efforts to recover are just beginning. I will continue working to get answers & to make sure North Texans know about available resources. Subscribe to my newsletter for updates: allred.house.gov/contact/newsle…
In the near future, I will update North Texans about the federal resources available to help individuals, through @fema, & small businesses, through @SBAgov, recover from this crisis. Right now, there are still a few things we should all be aware of as the crisis remains ongoing.
Dallas’ tap water is safe to drink. While other counties are under a boil water notice, Dallas Water Union wants to assure residents that their water is safe to drink and use. They are continuing to test and monitor drinking water supplies. dallasnews.com/news/public-he…
While more production is coming back online and fewer rolling blackouts are expected, thousands of North Texans are still without power due to damaged equipment. @oncor says they are working around the clock to restore power to all homes. dallasnews.com/news/weather/2…
If you are still without power many warming centers remain open. You can dial 2-1-1 for assistance finding one near you and here is a map of open centers across the state: tdem.texas.gov/warm/
As always, my office is here to be a resource for North Texans as we get through this crisis and begin to recover. If you need help or don't know where to turn, please give us a call at 972-972-7949.

This morning I spoke with the CEO of Vistra Energy, a North Texas based energy company, who shared a very troubling account of our state’s and ERCOT’s response leading up to this week’s storm.
They also shared some of the commonsense, temporary actions they took to prepare for the storm that allowed their energy production units to perform much better than the companies who didn’t.
They told me their team began to sound alarms on February 9th when their meteorologist saw freezing temperatures in the forecast knowing Texas’ infrastructure was not built for much less than 10 degrees.

Temperatures are expected to rise today across North Texas and while we may be on our way out of this storm, our state remains in a crisis. As we work to recover, I will continue to ensure @fema remains a good partner. To do so, we need to assess the current damage.
.@TDEM is undertaking a statewide effort to collect damage assessment data from the storm. If your home or business has been damaged by the storm, please report it here and TDEM will share your damage information with @fema:

With more production back on line, ERCOT announced that operations have returned to normal. If you're still without power, please report your outage to @oncor by calling 888-313-4747, texting OUT to 66267, or visiting ms.spr.ly/6015p71CZ.
