The small yet vocal Western pro-Assad chorus effectively splintered western pro-Palestine solidarity camp into those that believe in human rights and those that don’t. Palestinian activists have been very vocal that pro-Assad groups don’t represent them, but the damage is real.
To their credit Palestinian student groups have organised effective boycotts and deplatformed those from this camp from their events, but there is a relentless war of words that always follows and they themselves become targets online for speaking out.
This fragmentation has continued, with leading activists who first started denying regime war crimes now turning to defend other atrocities alongside their allies in this camp, including many who were actively recruited by Russian state media.
These people represent nobody but themselves and their easily debunked propaganda is mostly only convincing people without the intellectual capacity to think for themselves or do basic research, but their voices are among the loudest, and they are amplified on social media
Without the social media platforms to push atrocity revisionism, these figures would no longer be able to monetise their agitprop, and the problem would start to improve. But that’s like staring at the sky and praying for rain at this point.

The absolute zero moral quandry that an American feels about choices that could have lasting & devastating consequences for Iraqi and Afghan civilians. Who cares about stabilisation, de-mining etc when people like Vincent can't sleep at night because of a 2,500 troop deployment.
It's almost as if, actions in foreign policy have consequences, and actually trying to mitigate or avoid those consequences is incredibly difficult and not just a game for western pundits to invent meaningless terms and erase decades of political violence with sassy tweets.
For those at the back, Washington *has* been trying to withdraw from Iraq & Afghanistan for years, that's why they only hold such small numbers of US troops now. The rise of ISIS happened during Obama's term as he was trying to withdraw troops from Iraq.
I have a lot of Foreign Policy stuff I have to focus on for the next few days & I can't dedicate anymore time to responding to individual questions about trans rights and gender anymore. It's been 48 hours and I've only managed to eat one meal because of the relentlessness of it.
I have tried to kindly discuss things with people who respectfully want to debate the issue with me, and I have shown zero tolerance to those who want to spout hatred instead. But I have to move on to other things now else I will end up with no commissions completed for the month
I hope the experience of the last few days has shown people that you can't simply instigate a pile-on to someone with abuse in the hope that they change their opinions on sincerely held beliefs, and that you can't force people to apologise for things they don't feel sorry for.
I really am trying to be as respectful as possible, but I don't care if you've followed my career for 12 years, if you turn up in my mentions spouting anti-trans bigotry I'm going to block you forever without even feeling the slightest tinge of remorse. I hope this is clear.
If people want to follow me who disagree with me, the more the merrier. If people want to discuss my political views in an open and respectful manner, great! If people want to start slandering me as a misogynist, homophobe or attack trans people, I will block you immediately.
This is cleaning house time for me. This isn't the first time I've had to do it, I blocked all former friends or left wing allies that made excuses for antisemitism too.
Good morning folks. I just want to say that this individual @TheSinanKose was part of a sustained, aggressive & racist campaign to slander me as a terrorist and al-Qaeda supporter for 4 years. He cheered on the Islamophobic hatred I suffered at the hands of his Corbyn supporters.
Even here he can barely muster any condemnation of the virulent Islamophobic abuse I'm subjected to, and turn it around to blame me - the victim - for not being more supportive of Corbynite trolls like himself who were happy to paint me as a religious fundamentalist to smear me.
This is one of Sinan's friends, a middle class white man working in corporate law, using an anonymous account to libel me as a supporter of al-Qaeda, a group that has kidnapped and executed close friends of mine, friends I miss and mourn daily.
It seems the anti-trans group has used me to drum up money for their bigotry. Let's do something about this, I'd love my followers to dig deep and donate to @stonewalluk, where your money can actually go to helping LGBT people in need.
Here's the link: stonewall.org.uk/one-off-donati…
If you aren't in the UK and can't send to Stonewall, you can PayPal me the cash and I'll transfer it over to them myself. Come on folks, let's show these guys what solidarity looks like <3 paypal.me/ozkaterji
Thanks Andy, for every transphobic remark that is tweeted at me I am going to up my donation. The more hate, the more money @stonewalluk are going to receive. Because fuck you and fuck everything you stand for, love will win.
"Gender Critical" feminists attacking my bisexuality because I prefer the term Queer, because it is more trans-inclusive. But remember, I'm the bigot according to these guys, even as they mock my sexuality & deny the existence of trans women.
I don't really want to quote tweet this awful bigot any more than I want to quote tweet the next awful bigot, but there have been literally hundreds of racist, homophobic, biphobic and transphobic comments targeted at me because I said Trans Rights Matter. Again, I won't shut up.
I don't call myself Queer egg person. I am Queer. My mental or physical attraction to someone is not predicated on their gender or biological sex. Take that fucking Pride flag out of your bio before you @ some other LGBT person with one of your slurs.
