Getting reports that a plane flying over @broomfield had engine trouble and dropped debris in several neighborhoods around 1:08 pm. No injuries reported at this time. Plane did not land in Broomfield. Media staging area TBD.
Some of the debris landed in Commons Park and in the Northmoor and Red Leaf neighborhoods. Our patrol officers are working to locate all of the debris. If you have debris in your yard or near your home please call dispatch at 303.438.6405 to report asap.

A Code Red was sent out to about 1,400 residents around Commons Park, Northmoor and Red Leaf asking them to look for debris in yards.
Please refer all questions about the trajectory of the plane, how it landed, and why it dropped debris to our partners at the @NTSB who will take over the investigation.
Sheridan is closed from 136th Ave to 13th near Commons Park. Please use Lowell as an alternate route.
Given the number of people who are at Commons Park on a weekend day we are beyond grateful that no one was injured.
