I want to expand on this CC answer and say that while I'm extremely grateful to have people who like to read my story and who are excited for updates, "is this discontinued" or "please update" comments cause me a lot of anxiety, because I'm already producing as much as I can

This is something I enjoy doing, and I do it to relieve stress from my daily life. If I wrote any faster than I already do, there would be a significant drop in quality.
As far as my AO3 only fics go, I place a lot of pressure on myself with them, and they take a lot of time.

Not to mention the fact that, as my obligations IRL ramp back up, it gets harder to meet timelines and make everyone happy. I have to prioritize my own mental health in that situation, and I just focus on writing things that come naturally, not sticking to a strict schedule.
But please understand that if I do decide to put a story on hiatus, I'm going to let you guys know. I try to be fairly communicative in that sense.
And, for future reference, HWHFTM is never going to be on hiatus. It's my first and favorite AO3 fic. I just work at my own pace.
