1/ This is going to be an off-the-cuff thread, so I hope you’ll bear with me

Someone I knew just passed away

He had been a good friend

I’d known him since 2005

Then President Trump happened

They became inflicted with severe
T D S

I’ve never defriended people over politics

2/ & if I can toot my own horn,

I have a very socratic & kind method of debating on FB

This person proceeded to T D S all over one of my posts, never answered questions or facts, was snippy,

then declared me to be beyond reason & defriended me

That’s not important

3/ That was months ago. I harbored no ill will to them & knew they’d learn

I just found out tonight they died

I went to their social media profiles

Every post was being snippy & petty about the GOP & President Trump

Every. Last. One.

I know social media isn’t real life

But

4/ What a sad, 1-Dimensional way to present oneself to the world

He was better than that. He was a working artist; his last days of posting weren’t about his art

They were snarky, flippant, & IMO very misguided

But even if he were right: what a sad way to go out

So

5/ I beg of you: fight the good fight

But don’t forget to celebrate the beauty & love in your life

Don’t forget to talk about what makes you HAPPY or what is GOOD in your world

This too - as horrible & maddening as it all is - shall pass

Spread love & live your lives with joy
