1/ We mourn the more than 500,000 lives lost to COVID-19 in the United States, including 995 Washingtonians. We offer our sympathy and support to all who have suffered loss and recommit to doing our part to stop the spread of the virus and protect our most vulnerable neighbors.
2/ Remember to still get tested if you don’t feel well or believe you may have been exposed to COVID-19. Testing is a critical tool that will help us get through this pandemic.
3/ Our "Faith in the Vaccine" initiative partners with DC’s faith community to provide the vaccine to eligible residents. New Samaritan Baptist Church will be our second partner.
4/ Individuals impacted by the lapse in UI payments should expect payments to arrive in 2-3 business days. We understand how stressful this is for those awaiting payments and are working with the vendor to ensure it does not happen again.
5/ We have extended free PPE distribution for local businesses, but you must register! Pick up at Maple View Flats (register: bit.ly/3bqqCVM) or at the Convention Center on Mon, Thurs & Fri (register: bit.ly/3dAlSQ8)

1/ In this moment, it is difficult and heartbreaking to comprehend a world without John Lewis.
2/ We knew John Lewis as the conscience of Congress, but often, he felt more like the conscience of our nation, the conscience of a generations-long movement to deliver on the promise of equal justice and equal opportunity.
3/ Now, our appreciation for his life will be demonstrated in the work we do to build on his legacy. So we remember what the Congressman taught us: that we have a moral obligation, a mission, and a mandate to do our part. For decades, the Congressman did his part and more.
