Hey, @GoldenKnights fans. This is a hockey love story that will warm your heart, which we all need right now.

It all started at the VGK game vs. @TBLightning on February 20, 2020. A Lightning fan took this picture of the puck drop.

The girl in the grey beanie in the lower-left is my daughter, @kourtneycs.

Kourtney is #VegasBorn and a die-hard @GoldenKnights fan.

We were so excited for this game because @TBLightning was on a record 11 game winning streak, and we knew the boys could break it!

The fan who took the puck drop picture is @mikeyyyb123, a born and raised @TBLightning fan who lives in Las Vegas and works for @UNLVathletics. He attended the game with a fellow Tampa fan and sported their jerseys.

During 1st int, our friend, who also knew Michael, on the sly asked Michael if he was single, when Michael confirmed, she turned and said, “Michael, have you met Kourtney?”

The conversation started, then carried into 2nd intAfter the game, he asked for Kourt's number. ❤️📱

Like any mom today, I noted his name so that my neighbor, @mditondo, and I could internet stalk him to make sure he was normal. We immediately found his LinkedIn bio and were all in for the first date!

After the first date, my mother mistakenly followed him on Instagram, which was super embarrassing for Kourt to explain how Grandma Sue knew who he was and why she followed him.

Three weeks after they met, they went public to friends with Kourtney’s post on Instagram.

Then, tragically, the world shut down due to COVID.

Since we had to hunker down, we “quaranteamed” with our neighbor and ate all our meals together, watched reruns of VGK games and old movies, which Michael joined.

In April, we celebrated Kourtney’s birthday with a special dinner at home.

Because of the quarantine, and everyone working remotely, we REALLY got to know Michael!

He and Kourt spent a lot of time together. The relationship progressed quickly with shared experiences, like the time we went camping in northern Nevada.

After a year of experiences, the quarantine, going back to working at @UNLVathletics and @WynnLasVegas, Michael decided that he wanted to propose.

The week before Christmas, he asked my husband to lunch. At lunch, Michael asked for our blessings to propose to Kourtney.

Michael wanted to propose on their 1st anniversary where they met @TMobileArena. We connected with the @LevyRestaurants team, who LOVED their story. COVID made the approval steps long, but luckily, VGK was on the road! The proposal plan was in motion!

So, this Saturday, on February 20, 2021, Michael took Kourtney to the arena with the idea to take a picture outside to commemorate the day and the place they met before going to a celebratory dinner.

They were taking selfies when Kayla from @LevyRestaurants walked out leaving work and offered to take their picture. Michael told their story and asked if they could go inside to take a pic. After a bit, Kayla agreed to try to get them in! (She was a great actress!)

Our family was already inside and hiding. We set up a zoom so Michael’s parents and family in Florida could join.

Michael walked Kourtney onto the ice and proposed. When he put the ring on her finger, the jumbotron announced, “She Said Yes!” and they sounded the goal horn…for Michael’s biggest score of his life!

Exactly one year from the date they met.
A @TBLightning fan is now marrying into a @GoldenKnights fam! Hopefully, their kids will be #VegasBorn! #NoPressure

If you don’t recall, @GoldenKnights won that game 5-3. @TBLightning winning streak ended when Kourtney and Michael’s had just begun!
