1992: Darlin' is their first band. They are a rock trio (featuring Laurent Brancowitz who would later form French rock band Phoenix).
1993: Two Darlin' tracks are released and a British journalist calls them "a daft punky thrash."
Thomas and Guy-Man are more interested in electronic music now anyways so they ditch the rock outfit and become Daft Punk. A demo is recorded and they sign to Soma Records.
1994: Daft Punk's EP "The New Wave" is released. They do their first few DJ gigs.
1995: Daft Punk releases "Da Funk" which becomes an instant hit in the electronic music scene.
They ramp up their DJ gigs, tour parts of Europe, and remix other popular producers such as The Chemical Brothers.
1996: Daft Punk secretly releases a single under a different name because they don't like the hype. They don't want to be stars, they just want to make music.
More DJ gigs + first show in the USA.
They finish their debut album and sign to Virgin Records.
1997: Their debut album "Homework" featuring "Around the World" is released. It is a massive success.
They begin wearing masks to photoshoots to circumvent the "star system".
Daft Punk tour their "Daftendirektour" a spectacular live show with state of the art technology
1998/1999: More DJ gigs.
Recording bits of music.
"One More Time" is recorded in the summer of 1998.
Daft Punk "become" robots on 9/9/1999 because of an explosion in their studio.
2000: Live shows/gigs all but stop.
The robots are constructed by Alterian, Inc.
The single "One More Time" is released and is an instant dance classic.
2001: Daft Punk's second studio album "Discovery" is released to great success.
Daft Punk debut the robots to the public.
2002/2003: Daft Punk's anime film "Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem" is finished and released.
2004/2005: Daft Punk's 3rd studio album "Human After All" is recorded and released.
Daft Punk get a new look. No LEDs. Styled by Hedi Slimane in Dior Homme black leather.
Daft Punk direct several music videos.
"Electroma" is filmed in late 2005.
2006: Daft Punk change the course of electronic music with their 2006 Coachella show. It is their first live performance as the robots.
"Electroma" debuts at the Cannes Film Festival.
Daft Punk embark on the "Alive Summer 2006" tour.
2007: Daft Punk decide to continue touring. "Alive 2007" is what they call it.
"Electroma" is released to the public.

2008: Daft Punk perform alongside Kanye West at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards.
