We have to move past this era of meta-politics, of politics as spectacle and sport. The entire system has been completely perverted, commodified, and twisted inside out until it’s become meaningless. It’s part of how we’ve arrived at this point of crisis.
Again, so much of what you watch and read is produced by Washington insiders who are so ingrained in the game of politics that they’ve lost sight of what politics is supposed to be, how it actually affects lives. You’re consuming politics as sport and entertainment. Gossip.
