like with political "news" it also shows you that 24 hour news is not news. its about 15 seconds of news for every 3 hrs of breathless uninformed speculation and argument
i have an almost religious fervor about telling people to stop watching cable news. there is no upside to it and it is extremely addictive.
some shows are worse than others but as an overall venue for information, there's almost nothing worse. yes, even twitter/facebook.
some of you on here watch more cable news than i ever did, and i worked at media matters! like you're on a first name basis with "ali" and "rachel" and "joe" and my god what are you doing to yourselves?

the thing with the potato head (other than it being idiotic) is that this is their beloved free market working. the market has said the existing potato head is at a saturation point and hasbro wants to move units, so theyre attempting to widen their customer base.
the invisible hand of the free market is what made potato head gender neutral, is what im saying.
they think all of a sudden the ceo and cfo at hasbro are up there getting super-woke. its like the credit cards that were like "hey, if we appeal to blacks, latinos, and lgbtq+ families we can... make more money"

its probably the pilgrims' fault but holy hell america has to kick this thing where we insist that life must be hard. i feel like whether you believe in God or not, the point of human existence is not just endless toil.
one of my closest friends and i are from immigrant families and something i tell him all the time is our parents came to this country and often did what would be regarded as "menial" work so that we could be educated and have a better life.
my mom used to tell me that one of her proudest moments was when i surpassed what she had earned and i did it by not having to do back-breaking labor.

now multiply that by the people who have much deeper roots than i.

In ten years you’re still going to have liberals believing something is going to happen to Trump on the legal front “soon.”
Every time I post on this people are like “so you think he didn’t do anything wrong?” And it’s like... no, he’s obviously guilty as sin but we have a limited amount of time to devote to things and wishcasting about some unlikely fantasy scenario detracts from real things.

Parenting is work. I bet yours tried hard and I don’t blame them for what you have become.
Marco and the others gave away billions in tax cuts to the mega rich but refuse to help out ordinary people with the equivalent of pennies.
A lot of people will still buy this Republican fiction that parents and the disabled aren’t doing “work,” but I feel like millions after having gone through the mortgage crisis and now COVID are understanding how full of it Team Marco is.
