Another day, another round of public testimony to an ODOT advisory committee!
Tune in shortly to hear No More Freeways, Tubman students at @SunrisePDX advocates testify to ODOT's Historic Albina Advisory Committee:
@SunrisePDX we're underway! testimony about to begin shortly. Tune in, should be good stuff.
@SunrisePDX lol, ODOT changed their agenda last night and suddenly has a new slide talking about air pollution on tonight's HAAC hearing.
Almost as though ODOT is worried about a big story that Willamette Week might be publishing tomorrow about air pollution
@SunrisePDX NMF got to testify first! @ambrown: "asking ODOT to promote affordable housing is like visiting your optometrist to fill a cavity on your back molar; this agency simply doesn’t possess the expertise or skill set."
@SunrisePDX@ambrown "While I am White, the majority of my former classmates at Tubman are not. The fact that Tubman has the worst pollution in the state is more than just an environmental problem - it is an issue of racial injustice."
@SunrisePDX@ambrown@PPSConnect "I assumed the government wouldn’t actively try to increase air pollution near my middle school that might give me asthma, heart disease, or lung cancer. Clearly, the current and future residents of the Albina neighborhood cannot make that same assumption." - @SunrisePDX
"I want this city to be safe and healthy for my kids and kids who look like my kids, and an EIS is the only way we can ensure Albina will get the clean air our children and neighbors deserve."

NMF asked ODOT repeatedly over last few months about the freeway width. ODOT lied, and repeatedly said if we wanted to know more, we'd need to do a FOIA.
Unbeknownst to them, we already did a FOIA, and knew they were lying:
@OregonDOT First document is from 2017; 2nd is from 2019. It took *months* of FOIA efforts to get our hands on these very basic documents showing what @OregonDOT intends to build in the Albina neighborhood.
It shouldn't take months of legal posturing to find out what ODOT intends to build
