/7 In Parliament today, a decision could be made which will make or break the lives of 100,000's of innocent leaseholders, whose only misfortune was to get on the property ladder and live the @Conservatives dream of home ownership, irrespective of their own politics
/7 Imagine if your parents/grandparents had decided to downsize into what they considered to be a safer, more comfortable property, only to be told that not only is it unsafe, but it will take away any semblance of financial security they had and destroy their mental wellbeing
/7 Imagine if your son/daughter/nephew/niece had worked hard to save up enough money to get on the property ladder, only to get stuck on the first rung or fall off even, destroying the future that they had dreamt about when they were given the keys to their first property
/7 Imagine siding with every guilty party who have had ample opportunity to engage with leaseholders and remedy this situation, and going against The Seven Principles of Public Life, a set of ethical standards which apply to all holders of public office
/7 Imagine that with your vote today you could #EndOurCladdingScandal#EndOurFireSafetyScandal, and go forward with a clear conscience knowing that you had contributed to a legacy that will deliver safe housing, provide financial security and allow people to live their best life
/7 So @RobertJenrick@ChrisPincher and fellow @Conservatives MP’s, do you want to be on the right side of history, because believe it or not, this will be a turning point in the political landscape if you turn your back on the very people you rely on to keep you there
