So, #WordPress 5.7 is just around the corner and therefore I thought I would let you know what to expect in this thread, in terms of new features etc.

Here goes...

There has been a standardisation in the #WordPress admin colours. All admin colours now fall in 12 blues, greens, reds and yellows and 13 greys, as well as pure black and white

Improvements to the block editor including bug fixes and performance enhancements.

Additionally block patterns can now be drag and dropped, cover block has full height option, buttons support vertical alignments and there are font sizes in more places.

New block filters are now available in the form on dynamic hooks to filter the content of a single block.

An example would be render_block_core/paragraph

Improvements to the InnerBlocks API most notably keeping focus on the parent block on insertion.

The ability to now filter the values returned by i18n functions in javascript.

Lazy loaded iFrame support is added in #WordPress 5.7 which adds loading="lazy" onto the iFrames when a video is embedded.

A feature to allow website administrators to manually send a reset password link to existing users. This is really helpful when users loose their password.

There is now improved HTTPS detection which will simplify the migration of a #WordPress site from HTTP to HTTPS.

Improvements to the #WordPress login screen and password reset screen.

A new save password button to make it clear that users need to click to save their password.

New post parent related functions are coming in #WordPress 5.7.
