This is such complete and extraordinary bullshit, it even has its own creation myth: a "secure and safe climatic foundation" that "gave birth to our civilisations".
The UK government is insane, dysfunctional, and captured by some weirdo element.
There has never been a 'safe and secure' climatic foundation for 'our civilisations'.
Civilisation occurred precisely because nature's providence is insufficient.
One argument holds that our ancestors were forced into an evolutionary adaptive leap by an ice age.
What Attenborough's #Attenbollocks claims is not science, not fact, but pure ideology.
It's as dangerous, dark and weird as any 20th Century ideology.
And the zombies that sustain it won't let democracy anywhere near its agenda.
It is curiously Attenborough who commissioned this brilliant film, and in the half century since has forgotten every single word of it, and every single insight that it provided.
"When people believe that they have absolute knowledge with no test in reality, this is how they behave. This is what men do when they aspire to the knowledge of gods."
No test in reality... See for yourself...
"Science is a very human form of knowledge. We are always at the brink of the known. We always feel forward for what is to be hoped. Every judgement in science stands on the edge of error and is personal. Science is a tribute to what we can know *although* we are fallible."
"We have to cure ourselves of the itch for absolute knowledge and power. We have to close the distance between the push-button order and the human act."
Attenborough, in his talk to the world's most powerful politicians in the world, forgets it all.
The 'push button order' is explained at the beginning of the sequence, after he has explained that "there are two parts to the human dilemma".
>>
"One is the belief that the end justifies the means: that push-button philosophy, that deliberate deafness to suffering has become the monster in the war machine."
"The other is the betrayal of the human spirit: the assertion of dogma that closes the mind that turns a nation, a civilisation, into a regiment of ghosts. Obedient ghosts. Or tortured ghosts."
Environmentalism, as championed by Attenborough, is categorically hostile to humanity as championed by Bronowski.
I don't think Attenborough has a clue what he is doing or saying, or what the consequences are. And yet he would inflict it on us all, all the same.
It would be facile to say 'environmentalism is like Nazism'.
It is not facile to say that dogma is like dogma, and that desires to achieve 'absolute knowledge and power' based on claims with 'no test in reality' are all alike.
Environmentalism is capable of killing, subjugating and immiserating vastly more people than Nazism was.

I can only wonder what the other leaders at the UNSC really made of an ancient British man they'd never heard of (he is a voice over artist, and they speak other languages), lecturing them on Gaia's imminent wrath, they having only just seen their populations emerge from poverty.
I'm talking about him, again, of course, who the UK government wheeled out in an attempt to align the global security agenda with the green agenda.
Why?
Imagine it... You're the leader of a country with a population getting close to 1.4 billion people... You've actually witnessed western Malthusians running amok in your country for decades, to no good effect... And now for the first time, your working population has a chance...
"Participants who are prone to dogmatism – stuck in their ways and relatively resistant to credible evidence – actually have a problem with processing evidence even at a perceptual level, the authors found."
They were just trolling the Guardian.
'“For example, when they’re asked to determine whether dots [as part of a neuropsychological task] are moving to the left or to the right, they just took longer to process that information and come to a decision,” Zmigrod said.'
If Bill Gates said, "We're going to try to build a political movement, they way they have always been built: through argument and persuasion, and through democratic testing of our agenda", it would be much harder to criticise.
But that's anathema to the eco-billionaire's view.
"The survey was conducted by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), analysts at the University of Oxford, and NGO partners using a new approach: mobile gaming."
Seriously...
"From October 7 to December 4, 2020, advertisements in popular mobile games like Angry Birds and Words With Friends were replaced by the survey in 17 languages. "
That's not how "the people" express their voices, Greenpeace.
