Thinking of Canada?

Things you should know before making that move.

1. Canada is not a polygamous country. It is illegal to be married to more than 1 spouse at a time. So, if you are married to 2 wives/husbands, only 1 can migrate with you & you must be divorced from the other.
2. If you have a girlfriend/boyfriend that you have been living with you both can claim Common Law & can apply to Canada together.

A common-law relationship exists from the day both of you can provide evidence to support that your cohabitation is a conjugal relationship.
3. Canada doesn't recognize a marriage by proxy (with the exemption of Canadian Forces members). If both of you are not physically present during your ceremony, the marriage will not stand.

For instance, 1 spouse in Canada and the other in Kenya when the ceremony took place.
4. If you sponsor your spouse to Canada, you are financially responsible for them for up to 3 years even if you both are divorced after they become a Permanent Resident.

So be very sure, they are coming for love and not for the blue passport 🙂
5. As a student, your spouse can join you in Canada. They will be given an unrestricted "open work permit" and the validity will be the end of your study permit.

If FSW / PNP doesn't work, but one of you is a strong Study permit candidate, then you might want to consider it.
6. People who are inadmissible to Canada because of a non-serious conviction (i.e. a max sentence of <10yrs in jail) are eligible to be deemed rehabilitated. A person will be deemed rehabilitated automatically 10yrs after the completion of sentence for the non-serious conviction.
7. For anyone who does not qualify for deemed criminal rehabilitation, there is another way to permanently overcome inadmissibility. Starting five years after the completion of your sentence, you can apply for individual rehabilitation.
Just thought to share the unconventional Canada info, that I typically share. Here's a link to my other info on Canada:

Excited to introduce the new HumanSquad 🚀

We are moving from a simple Wordpress site to an improved cloud app. 🧶
In June 2020, we launched HumanSquad (a one-stop shop to connect intending immigrants to licensed & Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCICs) in Canada) primarily to tackle the incessant increase of fraudulent “agents” outside Canada.
It was a Wordpress site with minimal functionality, but it was dope because it worked.

The team has since grown from just two Co-Founders to over 21 team members (RCICs inclusive).

Young professionals and new grads oftentimes don’t know the right questions to ask after interviews, and sometimes blow their opportunities because of questions asked.

Here are top 10 good questions to ask, and top 10 questions you should try not asking after an interview.
As always, no two interviews can be the same as there are always different factors that determine the direction of an interview.

The interviewer, the ambience, the questions answered and the ones you ask can all play different roles on the outcome.
Questions To Ask

1. Please describe the culture of your organization:

What this question does is subtly pass a message to the interviewer that you are also interested in wether the organization is the right fit for you. It is important that the fit is mutual.
