A thread with some facts that the @nytimes, @SenSanders & others who have been promoting lies about #Israel & vaccination of those living under the Palestinian Authority's jurisdiction know but hope that the people do not know:

Under Annex III, Article 17 of the Oslo II Accords, the Palestinian Authority is solely responsible for public health, specifically INCLUDING vaccinations, in area under its jurisdiction.

The Oslo II Accords are an internationally binding agreement or, to use the term that you are doubtless used to hearing from the UN, the NY Times and the so-called "human rights" NGO's, they constitute "International Law."

What IS #Israel's responsibility with respect to the Covid pandemic in areas under #PalestinianAuthority control? Again, Article 17 is clear. BOTH sides are obligated to "exchange information regarding epidemics and contagious diseases [and] cooperate in combating them..."

Simply put, under the relevant international law, #Israel's duty is to exchange information & otherwise cooperate with the #PalestinianAuthority. It has no duty, and no authority, to displace the PA when it comes to vaccinating the population under PA control.

Now that we have looked at what international law actually requires of the parties, let's look at what has actually happened with respect to the Covid-19 pandemic in the areas under PA control.

You might remember this 👇. As Covid-19 was raging, the #UAE sent a cargo plane filled 16 tons of aid for distribution to the PA. The Palestinian Authority REFUSED to accept delivery because the plane flew directly from the UAE to #Israel.

More recently, the #PalestinianAuthority refused to arrange for the purchase or delivery of vaccines through #Israel, and openly declared that they "do not expect Israel to sell them, or purchase on their behalf, the vaccine from any country."

And just this week, the #PalestinianAuthority rejected #Israel's offers to provide vaccines to the thousands of worshippers, many or most of whom are Palestinians who live under the PA's jurisdiction, visiting the al-Aqsa Mosque for Friday prayers.

The PA rejected Israel providing vaccines to worshippers attending services at al-Aqsa even AFTER #Israel offered that the vaccines would be administered only by Arab Israeli paramedics dressed in clothes that bear no markings of Israeli medical establishments.

Not for nothing, but despite the PA's intransigence, #Israel HAS vaccinated some Palestinians who live under the PA's jurisdiction.

And let's not forget when #Israel secretly delivered dozens of vaccine doses to the PA for "special humanitarian cases" that doubtless meant PA VIP's.
