finally watching TENET. 4k UHD. yes i have subtitles on because i have seen a chris nolan film before
incredible suits in this movie
also ate half of a fun brownie so forgive me ahead of time if these tweets get a little strange in about 90 minutes
my wife is still not convinced this isn’t a batman movie. michael caine showing up doesn’t help.
john david washington looks nothing like his dad but there are definitely moments when he sounds just like him
i appreciate that nolan lets elizabeth debicki be tall, meaning, no camera tricks to hide her size
love that scarf and pattinson’s general “dirtbag who will ruin your life” vibe
JDW and debicki in that speedboat is cinema, to me
beautiful people in speedboats is half the reason i love MIAMI VICE (2006)
okay i think i am officially at the point where this movie no longer makes any sense to me
i have so far gone from having a pretty good grasp on what this movie is trying to do to losing it to maybe again getting it
verdict: this movie is gorgeous to look and experience but is incredibly stupid if you try to think about it beyond that. it is simultaneously blockbuster filmmaking at its highest level and at its dumbest.

Romney: “the Biden stimulus calls for checks of $400 a week in addition to state checks through September. At that level, the majority of the unemployed would make more by not working. Employers already complain that they can’t find employees.” wsj.com/articles/biden…
I guess employers will just have to put up more money now won’t they?
seems like employers need to learn the value of work
it makes absolutely no sense to shame middle school kids for not knowing “major events” in US history. the whole point is they have to learn! and for what it’s worth, this kind of shaming makes it *less likely* that kids want to learn history in the first place.
you’re really having a hard time believing that an 11-year-old could not know who Hitler was? that makes total sense to me, especially sinc WWII isn’t an overwhelming part of pop culture the way it was when i was a kid in the late 1990s.
like, the second world war was everywhere in 1998/1999/2000,/2001 from movies like SAVING PRIVATE RYAN to television shows like BAND OF BROTHERS to video games like MEDAL OF HONOR
