Was tempted to ignore this. First of all not sure how I feel about Gov posting "ad features". I come from a country where we had a lot of that under the previous regime (and the current one) and not sure I would recommend it.

I love how one of the examples talks about how easy it was to import into the UK (all you need is an EORI and changes to invoices) when UK controls have not yet been introduced. Yes, of course, there were not delays!

Also, the article, like the Gov Brexit campaign, fails to mention rules of origin. And if these companies are not affected by rules of origin (solely import EU made goods for the UK market - excluding NI) these are exceptions.

That's not the norm.

I also enjoy the backhanded gaslighting. Talking about how Brexit readiness was key. That is absolutely true.
Remember why a lot of companies didn't prepare on time? Late guidance, covid, the fact that you as the Gov chose no to mention non-tariff barriers?

I am genuinely happy that these companies found the process easy and can continue to trade. I hope there are many more like that. But I see the other side of the story every day when I speak to my clients and have to tell them their products don't originate and tariffs are due

And that's not the only article like this that popped up over the weekend. Seen ppl tweet about it.

The very fact that UK Gov feels the need to publish such articles is frankly alarming.

If things are genuinely going well... why bother? If they aren't and the response is to pretend like everything is fine, that's not great.

It may also simply be an attempt to say that it's not all doom and gloom but I don't know. Something about it makes me feel uneasy.
