SHEIKH IBRAHIM NIASSE AND HIS STUDENTS

To talk about Baye’s students, is indeed, one of the most difficult puzzle in this world. Sheikh is a colossus via whom the hidden Men gulp from. The posse of Rijal around him are numerous—only God knows how many!

Sheikh is the Sheikh of Shuyukhul Islam.

It’s in this regard, Baye would say

نَفَى عَنِّيَ الْأَشْرَارَ طَهَ وَ سَاقَ لِي
رِجَالَ التُّقَى وَالرُّشْدِ وَالْعِلْمِ وَالْفَوْزِ

Daha expelled from me all evils , and connected me with Men of taqwa, right guidance, knowledgeable and people of great achievements

Much to this enigma, is the question of who and and who to talk about among these Rijal? What to talk about? Every one of these Students has so much more to his/her name, Not even writing a book would do justice talk less of Twitter threads. #Rajab4Baye

This thread however, does not in any way showcases Baye’s Students in order of their ranks, neither does it try to portray one saint as superior to the others. I randomly selected them, just for blessings

Permit me to start with Sheikuna Ahmad Abul Fathi RTA. The Khalifa, a big connoisseur, renowned personality, an earnest Khalifa: He was the most famous Sufi in Africa after the demise of our Sidi Ibrahim Niasse 🤍

Maulana Arif Al-kabeer would breed giant Shuyukh, Sidi Ibrahim Saleh Alhusaini RTA was one.

He embraced Tijani litany from Baye Niasse

He’s among the Men who see Rasool in a state of awakening.

He also asked Allah for martyrdom, and He died in a Car accident!

To know how exalted He’s, Sheikh Niasse wrote an epistle to him on 8 safar, 1383 H in Lagos.

Baye wished He could visit him. He had this to say

“
إذ الأحباب فاتهم التلاقي ** فلا صلة بأفضل من كتاب”

Meaning:

If Meeting evaded lovers, nothing connect them like an epistle.

Sidi Abdullahi Bn Sidi Ibrahim Niasse Khaulaky RTA

An all-inclusive connoisseur, big consultant.

He was the Khalifa of Baye.

He built estates after the demise of Sheikh Ibrahim for the guests and visitors.

The best of heirs

He devoted his time for supplication and zikr.

He feeds abundantly—Never did He ever fear poverty even for once!

There’s a manifestation of nobility and many things that prove his conviction and honesty.

Sheikh Abubakar Atiku Sanka: No One breeds great scholars like Sheikh Atiku. He’s a star who reached far above firmament. He spent all his time inculcating good virtues and guiding people—under him, gigantic islamic scholars graduated

رجال صدقوا ما عهدوا الله عليه

To understand how great He was, Sheikh Ahmad Tijani Usman ( one of the pillars of Faidat) had this to say

إنه ذوهمة عالية كثير التواليف بليغ في الأقوال
“ He was a Man of great determination, a prolific writer, with full of wisdom in his Sayings

أبوبكر العتيق أبو المعالي  *   هو ابن العالم الخضر الهمام
أسيدنا أبابكر أثـــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــرت *   قلوب العاشقين ذوي الغرام                                         بتأليــــــــــــــــف بليغ ذي جمال* شذى العطر كالمسك الختـــــــــــــــــــــــــام

Sheikh Sani Hassan Kafanga had this about sidi Ateeq :” He’s so engrossed with everything that has to do with knowledge. He’s a great scholar who’s vast in jurisprudence, a very disciplined Sufi”

Sheikh Nasir Kabara, the then Qadiriyya leader too, had to acknowledged .....

His greatness. He said

فيض أتى من سيد      *    بهر العقول السامعة
أعني عتيقا من غدا      *   محي الطريق ورافعة
                                 محي الطريق طريقة ال * القطب الأعز وناجعة

Sheikh Atiku published more than OneHundred Islamic Books—among which are;

١. إزاحة الهجر بشرح قصيدة ابن حجر

٢. إظهار الميس من أبيات امرئ القيس

٣. وإتحاف الأحباء بذكرى وقعة أحد وما بها من الشهداء،"

He’s among those who Sheikh Baye in his epistles, refers to as four-Sheiks

“إلى الشيوخ الأربعة"

These were: Sheikh Abubakar Atiku, Sheikh Tijani Usman, Sheikh Usman qalansawi and Sheikh Hassan Sani kafanga.

*Sheikh Ibrahim Balarabe Jega who had the most famous poem of Sheikh Niasse in Hausaland. ( Gorar faila)

*Maulana Abul fathi too was his Student before He handed him over to Baye Niasse. #Rajab4baye

*Sheikh Ibrahim Na Alkhadi Sahibul Garamiyya Kontagora too.

* Sheikh Bakarabe Gusau

* Sheikh mai Nasar

*Sheikh Aliyu Mai kanti

*Sheikh Adam dan Killori

And many more uncountable Rijal. Ridwa nullahi alaihim 🤍

Women too weren’t left behind. Their Men are like Rocks, While their Women are like Men.

Sayyidatu Maryam Bint Maulana Niasse was a connoisseur, learned who speaks with the Quran. Baye enrolled her in Tahfeez in Mauritania 🇲🇷 under the Sheikh Ahmad Rabbani while She’s 5 years..

She came back to Dakar in 1952 teaching Quran. Children from all over the world were sent to her to teach them Quran—Senegal 🇸🇳, Nigeria 🇳🇬, Ghana 🇬🇭, Egypt 🇪🇬, Palestine 🇵🇸 . Only God knows how many thousands of Children memorised Qur’an under her.

Next is the present Mufti of Nigeria, Imam, an interlocutor, a principled Jurist-consult, the interpreter and reciter of Qur’an, Sufi; Sheikhul Islam, Maulana Sidi Shariff Salih Husaini.

There’s no knowledge on earth or even beyond unless you find him having a say. ranging from

Jurisprudence, fundamental concepts, Tafseer, Hadith, Balaga, Qiraáts, Nahwu, literature, morphology, prosody, philosophy, history, geography. etc

He’s a prolific writer!

Arab Nations send planes that would ferry him to their Countries to talk to them on different topics.

I would like to end it with the Maulana Sheikh Aliyul Harazimi. If you want to know a friend of Allah, just meet him. He calls Allah interminably. You’ll think He’s unmovable rock, but He’s faster than lightning
⚡️ وترى الجبال تحسبها جامدة وهي تمر مر السحاب

Finally, this is just a tips of an iceberg. Baye’s students are as many as stars
وما يعلم جنود ربك إلا هو

We just mentioned them in order to have their barakat

فتشبهوا إن لم تكونوا مثلهم *** إن التشبه بالرجال فلاح.

يليتني كنت معهم فأفوز فوزا عظيما
