Happy Tuesday, heretics. Look upon these links, ye mighty, and despair!!! It’s time for The Morning Heresy news roundup. Today's episode, "Manifesting in My Biofield."
We’ll start with what your friendly neighborhood Center for Inquiry is up to. Perhaps most importantly, there’s a lot of news about COVID, the vaccines, and various scams that gets covered over at our Coronavirus Resource Center. Go see. centerforinquiry.org/coronavirus/?u…
On Thursday, you’ll recall, we’ve got @DrPaulOffit coming back to Skeptical Inquirer Presents to answer your questions about the new vaccines. Register now: centerforinquiry.org/news/paul-offi…

The Archdiocese of New Orleans is telling its flock not to get the J&J vaccine, “morally compromised” because they say it makes “extensive use of abortion-derived cell lines," coming from cloned cells from a single fetus from 1972, which makes God angry. religionnews.com/2021/03/01/new…
A health journal is concerned over a 2019 article about the “human biofield” that literally has in the title, “How to Detect Disease in Your Energy Field Before It Manifests in Your Body.” They are concerned it was short on “validity.” Wow, you think? retractionwatch.com/2021/03/01/i-a…
Netflix has a new docu-series on Mark Hofmann, Murder Among the Mormons, where a guy who forged LDS artifacts killed some folks with car bombs. religiondispatches.org/murder-among-t…
Outrageous: A British Columbia Supreme Court judge says Gary Smith, a Pastafarian, was not discriminated against when he was not allowed to wear a pirate hat for his driver’s license photo. May His Noodly Appendage have mercy on your soul.
.@emmillerwrites reports: Breakaway conservative Methodists, who left because they couldn’t be as mean to gays, have a new name: Global Methodist Church. Whoa, “global,” huh? I’m starting my own, where we’re nice to everyone: THE GALACTIC METHODIST CHURCH
This made me nuts. A nine-year-old girl in Sri Lanka died as a result of an exorcism by her mother and an accomplice. She was beaten with a cane in order to chase out “evil spirits.” Horrifying. As a species, we have to be better than this.
As always, there's more to sate your heretical appetite at the blog, and you can also get this feast of links in your inbox every weekday morning (more or less) at centerforinquiry.org/newsletter/?ut…

“When the world breathes again, in 2022 if not before, the heroes of the hour will be the scientists: the men and – especially, as it happens – the women who rose to the occasion and developed at least three effective vaccines with astonishing speed.”

More drama from our lawsuit on behalf of Secular Celebrants in Texas: an appeals court dismissed the case on some nitpicky, technical grounds about standing and redressability, so we’re just going to come right back.
“We remain determined and enthusiastic to continue the fight in Texas,” said our legal director Nick Little. “Nonreligious couples in Texas deserve the same rights as the religious—a principal so obvious is should hardly need stating, let alone litigated. centerforinquiry.org/press_releases…
