This is Dr Okorie Ifeanyi Venatus,an intern Doctor in UPTH. He collapsed with his forehead to the ground after a 72 hour shift as the only House Officer in the unit.

He and other intern Doctors all over Nigeria have not been paid for 3 months now (Since December 2020).
A country which treats bandits and herdsmen better than her Doctors is headed for doom.
There is no one to speak for these young, helpless, Vulnerable Doctors called House Officers . Their umbrella body NARD, which they pay dues to, keeps telling stories after stories since January. No action. Imagine working for 3 months under harsh conditions but no pay.
The Federal Government and it's affiliates selected the most helpless Doctors to torment, because they know that there will be no one to speak for them. If it were resident Doctors' or Consultants that were starved for even half a month,they would have shut down all the hospitals
The saddest fact about this is that NARD would have declared an immediate industrial action if residents Doctors were the ones involved but because it's house officers, there is sudden akinetic mutism. STOP COLLECTING THEIR DUES IF YOU CAN'T DEFEND THEIR INTERESTS.
When House Officers Salary are paid, NARD is the first to take dues from the source even before the salaries can breath. If you can't fight for the Salaries because House Officers are members of your association. At least can't you fight for it so that you can steal your dues?
A hungry Doctor is a walking time bomb waiting to explode on patients and kill them all.
NARD should learn to treat House Officers as their legal members, prioritize their affairs the way they prioritize the affairs of other senior Doctors or GIVE THEM AUTONOMY AND STOP COLLECTING THEIR DUES. IF YOU CAN'T FIGHT FOR THEM, STOP STEALING FROM THEM.
When NARD wants to go on strike, they try so hard to make House Officers join them so that the effect of the strike can be felt. They go to their lodges and keep convincing them that they are part of NARD. Why?Because Consultants can easily work with House Officers and the effect
..of NARD strike will not be felt. They know this. So they force House Officers to join the strike even imposing fines to House Officers seen working during NARD strike. But when it's time to throw their weight behind House Officers sorrows, they suddenly become paraplegic. Why?
The name of the President of NARD which house officers pay dues to every single month is Dr Okhuaihesuyi Uyilawa 08036667892
okhuaihesuyiuyilawa@yahoo.com
Please greet him with an urgent message asking why he has decided to ignore his junior members who are being starved to death
The name of the secretary of NARD which House Officers pay dues to every month is Dr Jerry Isogun. 08038902861
idjerry2@gmail.com
Please greet him with a message and ask why he has decided to ignore his junior members who are being aggressively starved to death.
Let me remind us all that when a House Officer does 72 hour shifts and makes mistakes due to overwork and burnout syndrome with background hunger and absence of salary, he is being punished with more work called "extension". Who suffers at the end? THE PATIENTS!!!
You might think this does not concern you because you are not a Doctor, but if you or any of your relatives or friends patronize any teaching hospital or FMC in Nigeria, you are in trouble. Imagine leaving your life at the mercy of a Doctor who has not been paid for 3 months.
Everyday, House Officers put their lives on the line and are most exposed to all sorts of diseases because they have the closest contact with the patients as the lowest Doctors in the food chain. The senior Doctors scribble out the Plan and they are the ones that carry it out.
The are the ones that clerk and examine the patients first. The secure intravenous access,take patient samples, prepare patient for surgery, transfuse patients,counsel patients and follow up patients closely, acting as a link between the patients and senior Doctors
House Officers have contracted and died from COVID19,Lassa Fever,HIV & AIDS,Hepatitis B&C andother diseases while discharging their duties.
This is not the cadre of Doctors you should starve for 3 months no matter the reason.Except you want to kill them and all Nigerian patients
A little while ago, a house officer in a particular teaching hospital in Nigeria was made to work for extra two months and counting without pay because he said something that his senior thought it was insultive. His collagues went on a solidarity march to beg mgt to sign him out.
What prompted the peaceful demonstration was that the House Officer in question attempted suicide due to frustration. Management lashed all the House Officers in that teaching hospital 1 month extension for that act. This is how intern Doctors are treated in Nigeria. As rags

In december of 2003, Joyce Vincent died of an asthma attack in her North London flat. The television was left on.

The mail continued to be delivered. Her rent was set up to be automatically deducted from her bank account.

The days rolled by and no one noticed she was gone.
Those days turned into weeks and the weeks into months.

There were large trash dumpsters on the side of the building next to her unit, so the neighbors never thought much of the smell emanating from her flat.
The floor was full of noisy kids and teenagers and no one questioned the constant thrum of television noise in the background.

Eventually, Joyce’s bank account dried up.

Her landlord sent her letters of collection. These letters, like the others, simply fell into the stacks

Ondine Curse is a disease also called Central Hypoventilation Syndrome. The disease got its name from an ancient story.

Ondine was a young nymph who fell in love with a mortal man. When she found out he was unfaithful to her, she became enraged and set a curse on him.
The curse itself varies from version to version but all circle around her husband’s breathing.
While he sleeps, he is unable to breath.

For the rest of his life, her husband is never brought the peace of sleep for fear he might die.
Ondine's curse is associated with severe respiratory arrests during sleep.

Patients develop life-threatening episodes of apnea with cyanosis in the first months of life

Patients generally require tracheostomy and lifetime mechanical ventilation on a ventilator to survive

I once worked in a hospital in Lawanson, Surulere. One evening around 9pm, I was on my way home when two men intercepted me. It happened around Boluke Pharmacy by Otunba bus stop. The light was bright and people were passing by but nobody stopped.
They showed me a pistol and asked me to bring my phone and all my belongings. There was no way I was giving out that phone. That was the very night I was expecting a text message that could change my whole

They cocked the gun and threatened to shoot but I stood my ground.
They took my wallet. Luckily I had left my debit cards in the hospital at the suggestion of one of the nurses on night duty. The wallet contained about 6k. They hit my head and dealt with me severely then left.

An 8 month pregnant wife had a little quarrel with her husband this morning which got physical. She grabbed a kitchen knife and amputated the man's penis. When next you want to advocate against domestic violence, remember that it can be both ways.

(Viewers Discretion Advised)
UPDATE: This man would have bled to death if he was not rushed to the hospital because the penis has a very rich blood supply. The blood supply to the penis is CLOSE to the brain's. Bleeding was immediately controlled.
His penis can't be re-attached because it "died off" so to speak before it could get to the hospital.
This man will not be able to have sex for the rest of his life. This man will be urinating via a catheter(a rubber tube passed into his bladder) for the rest of his life.

A senior colleague, a Senior Registrar he had been very loyal to, promised to give him 100k. 3 weeks to Induction, Chief stopped picking and returning his calls.He never heard from him again. He ran into the SR after Sponsio.He didn't apologize.He pretended as if nothing happened
He even asked my friend to help him pick his children from school which he did.

After Housemanship my friend was posted to Kogi which happened to be the man's state 4 Service. When he posted 'Kogi Kopa' on Facebook, d man called him and told him that he had accomodation for him

STOP RAPING WOMEN

See what sexual assault does to a woman

* Shame

Survivors thinking they are bad, wrong, dirty, or permanently flawed.

* Boundaries

Because sexual violence is such a boundary violation, it impacts the survivor's perception of when or how to set boundaries
Survivors may be unfamiliar with boundaries in general; they may not know that they have a right to create and reinforce them. Many survivors need support developing and practicing boundaries.

* Trust

Sexual assault is a betrayal of trust. Most survivors find it difficult to
trust other people as well as themselves and their own perceptions. On the other hand, they may place an inappropriate level of trust in everyone.

* Safety

Survivors' sense of safety has been altered; they may assess unsafe situations as safe and perceive safe situations as
