i won’t shut up about these anti-trans bills for a number of reasons, but primarily, right now, because these sports bills all started to attack black women in sport. if we don’t talk about this we are losing the plot.
quite literally, in Connecticut, most of these trans sports bills started because three white, wealthy young women hated two black women SO VEHEMENTLY that they stared a movement.
now, nearly half of the country is putting forth anti trans bills.
the regulations impact young people like Terry and Andraya, but are rooted in the same hate and body scrutiny we see waged against everyone from Caster to Serena. we must fight this wave of anti blackness and transphobia
