Today was all about celebrating women who have made impact in their society, community and in Nigeria.
A celebratory luncheon was held at the Hub in Honour of the Sponsor of the VAPP Bill, Honourable Kate Mamuno(Member representating Demsa Constituency).
In her acceptance speech, Hon. Kate Mamuno thanked the NEHIH and HIF for the laudable initiative that highlighted the need for the actualisation of the VAPP act in Adamawa state. She also thanked @ngBritish and @EUinNigeria for partnering with the HIF to actualise the dream.
The hub also had a presentation of awards and certificates of recognition to various deserving individuals and CSOs for their efforts towards advocating for women's right and protection.
Also in attendance were women leaders from various sector ranging from professional to religions leaders. Organisations represented were @PoliceNG, @CIVILDEFENDERS, @wotclef, FIDA and various CSOs in the Gender ecosystem.
As the HIF continues to commemorate the 16 days of activism in partnership with @ngBritish and @EUinNigeria under the #MCN project, various CSO's and GBV advocates joined the Walk for Peace from the Adamawa State Secretariat to the Adamawa State House of Assembly.
The rally team was recieved by the Honourable Speaker, Adamawa State House of Assembly, Honorable Aminu Iya Abbas, the deputy Speaker, Honourable Makondo Pwamakeno and other members of the House adorned in orange face caps in solidarity to the cause.
Speaking on behalf of the rally team, Mary Igbazua, co-founder of the NEHIH, appreciated the speaker for the warm reception and spoke on the reason for the march.
