god i hate the cult of "write simply"

please tag your posts as nsfw if you're gonna jerk off everywhere

there is an interesting back and forth to be had about various forms of writing, the audiences, the styles. like, there are entire fields of human endeavor about this topic

but no, the "write simply" cultists want to completely erase all of this

there's never any consideration of what "simple" even means. other than a reflection of whatever the author feels is simple

i think this specifically drives me up the wall because writing is a medium of thought

it feels like... the opposite of transhumanism. that we should actively deny a fundamental part of what it means to be human, rather than extend it
