Anti Terror counterparts have reasons to believe that the assailant was not just the ordinary criminal, but had prior to the attack received training in tactical maneuvers and weapon handling.
Preliminary forensic investigations indicate that the assailant’s details cannot be traced in respective government records. The three identity cards that were found in his possession belong to other individuals who have since been identified.

A senior Police Officer sustained gunshot wounds last night, as he led a contigent of Police officers, in responding to a scene of crime in Isebania, Migori county. The officers who were responding to the distressing wails and screams of victims under attack, came under a hail
of bullets as they stormed Mairi Complex where the robbery had been staged. Unbeknownst to the officers, a five-man gang that was armed to the teeth with all manner of weapons had staged a robbery within the complex, maiming and robbing businessmen off their hard earned cash.
A fierce shoot out then ensued pitting the officers against the robbers. However, the assailants’ feeble fire was no match to the officers’ ferocious barrage of fire & like cornered rats, they scampered into different directions leaving traces of blood from their injuries.

An assortment of lethal weapons comprising of 3 grenades & teargas canisters, were today morning confiscated from a passanger at Sololo in Marsabit. The suspect a 24-year-old woman was traveling in a Marsabit-bound PSV from Moyale, belonging to the Nanyuki Car Sacco
The explosives discovered by a multi agency team of officers comprising of our Police and AP counterparts, had been carefully concealed in a handbag belonging to the suspect.
DCI’s Anti Terror Police Officers who have since taken over investigations into the matter,
are yet to establish the exact location where the explosives were destined, though it is believed that they were headed to the capital city. In this regard, the driver of the vehicle was also arrested as a person of interest, to assist detectives with investigations.
