NAC came out with a Communal Violence Bill. The Bill was intended to prevent acts of violence, or incitement to violence directed at people by virtue of their membership to any “group”.

Food Security Bill: NAC worked on a stronger food security bill and pushed for more additions in the budget to this area.

Long before anyone else, Aruna Roy and Jean Dreze had opposed UID cards on grounds of civil liberty and privacy concerns. They also objected to the plan to link UID with MGNREGA.

RTI: Apart from birthing the RTI, NAC pushed for a stronger RTI (eg. PMO's plan to nix file notings from the ambit of RTI was itself nixed by NAC).

MGNREGA: Jean Dreze pushed this scheme, a testament to the pro-poor agenda. The cause for a lot of friction between govt and Sonia Gandhi, this stood the test of time.

Harsh Mander, a key member of the NAC, pushed the pro poor agenda, besides favouring a more empathetic approach to the naxal problem. Needless to say, using your armed forces against your own people wasn't the done thing according to the NAC. Fault that, I dare you.
Besides all these specific initiatives, the "kitchen cabinet" focused on gaps between policy & implementation especially relating to the poor, HDI-related matters, and rural India.
