Today in 1986, a Trump Tower gambling ring leader was arrested for ordering the murder of a rival gambling criminal. The story doesn't end with Trump Tower, though. trumpfile.org/criminal-gambl…
On March 13, 1986, Robert Hopkins was arrested for ordering the murder of one of his rivals. Hopkins was a mob member leading New York City’s largest criminal gambling ring. He owned two condos in Trump Tower and at least 100 illegal gambling locations.
Trump Tower wasn't Hopkins' only connection to Donald Trump. He was a member of the Lucchese crime family, which often shared membership and work with the Gambino and Genovese families.
Gambino & Genovese members also worked with Fred Trump and Roy Cohn.
Four years after Hopkins' arrest, the Justice Department opened an investigation into Donald Trump. They'd discovered that Robert Hopkins had purchased his Trump Tower condos for money laundering, and a third party involved said Donald Trump participated.
The third person, Frank LaMagra, told investigators that Donald Trump actively participated in the purchase of the condos and knew they were being used to launder money. In fact, a bank that did business with Trump provided the deposits on the condos in 1984.
LaMagra offered to wear a wire to prove that Donald Trump was involved in the money laundering operation, which could have saved this country from Trump.
But the investigation was dropped after Trump agreed to raise money for then-U.S. Attorney Rudy Giuliani‘s mayoral campaign.
The Robert Hopkins / Trump Tower story is just one more example of how Trump evaded justice with the help of his elite criminal friends. trumpfile.org/criminal-gambl…
One correction to this thread:
The investigation into Trump was opened two years after Hopkins' arrest, not four. It was four years after the Trump Tower condos were bought, two years after the arrest.

Posts are taking extra time today because I'm updating some old drafts with full context from long articles and passages in books. So there's more on the way, but I wanted to get that top link up.
