So, to the single mother struggling to make ends meet,
to the LGBT+ youth wondering if Saint Louis is a home for them, and to anyone who has felt like your government has forgotten you and left you behind, I see you and I’m ready to serve. #TeamTJ
I plan on replacing the Public Safety Director.
I respect Judge Edwards, but it's time for a new direction.
We'll put the public back in public safety, we'll make sure that police aren't the only response when you call 9-1-1, and we'll lead with prevention-first.
Yes or No: would you veto any legislation approving aerial surveillance?
In one word: YES!
I want to revamp and reshape SLDC so that it is more outward facing, works better with communities, and create neighborhood development that is community-oriented throughout the City.
I will work with the next Treasurer to bring banks to the table and ask them to do more for our Black and brown communities.
We need a Mayor ready to lead on day one to tackle our most pressing issues.
We need to use the incoming money to keep people in their homes with rental assistance, stand up mass vaccination clinics, and many other immediate needs.
We need strong oversight for the distribution of these funds and have a transparency portal for these funds.
We have food deserts, bank deserts, and other stark divides in access to services in our City.
We will demand developers do more, and if they want healthy subsidies, they'll be required to focus North of Delmar. #TeamTJ
The College Kids Children's Savings Program provides financial empowerment to children AND their families. #TeamTJ
The Editorial Board is racist and sexist.
I set boundaries with who I meet with.
I'm ready to work with @DrSamPage and @QuintonLucasKC to be a unified front to advance an urban agenda at the State Legislature.
I am the ONLY candidate in this race who won't have to build relationships from scratch. I'm ready on Day One.
I have a Master's in Health Administration with a background in public health.
At this moment in history, we need a County Executive who's a doctor and a Mayor with a background in public health.
I'll keep our region healthy and safe.
Being Mayor requires one to recognize that sometimes you have to be quiet and listen to those most affected.
The people closest to the problem are closest to the solution.
I am proposing putting more social workers, case managers, and other trained professionals so that the right person is dispatched to the right call.
I am asking you to dream bigger.
Because bigger and better is indeed possible!
But this change won’t happen automatically. This kind of change, not incremental change, but real change; real transformation, requires a Mayor who is ready to embrace a new vision for St. Louis.
We don’t have time for leadership that has to learn on the job.
Today, I am excited to announce some incredible endorsements that speak to the coalition of support -- from North to South -- that this campaign is building.
I am humbled to earn their support, and I am eager to continue hearing from people from all across this City.
License Collector Mavis Thompson is saying YES to Saint Louis and is joining #TeamTJ!
I look forward to working with the strong, city-wide Black women who serve the City of Saint Louis! #WinWithBlackWomen
Representative Marlon Anderson is joining #TeamTJ and the Representatives serving the vast majority of this City who have already endorsed this campaign.
I look forward to working with those in the state legislature to move our City, Region, and State forward.
At a time when there are national calls to defund the police and redistribute resources in a way that values black lives, now is not the time to be divisive. While we often disagree with the people we serve, we can do so without being disagreeable. 1/
It was irresponsible for the Mayor to publicize the names and addresses of her constituents, who were exercising their constitutional right to free speech and to petition their government. 2/
The Mayor’s actions not only endanger her citizens, it is also reckless. The timing of her disclosure is ironically the day before an alt-right/KKK rally in our city. 3/
