Watching this is enough to make me feel schizophrenic but the second video angle makes it much more likely to be a bizarre accidental forced perspective or something
When things are *too* easy that's when you have to be most careful
Modernity is forcing the reinvention of bicameral mind in a new branch of human species
One voice is modern reasonable "well here's how all of this insanity makes perfect sense" while other voice is raw raging schizophrenia that you ignore at great peril
This is the actual answer btw. The clips this is in response to show actual physical interaction between Biden's hand and the mike, which makes the "illusion" fall away
The point of this ideology is that you're not allowed to exist outside it. If you ever transgress it—even in the past, before it existed—you get thrown out of society's airlock
The lack of redemption is how you engineer total submission to it
Since you've already been given the social death penalty, there's no further costs for defecting harder against it, even becoming its mortal enemy
The effect of its demand for submission is that it becomes a radicalization engine
Extreme polarization is baked into the cake
But this ideology, or maybe more accurately state of mind, hates that you continue to exist—you've been canceled, but it knows it lacks the power to make you *literally* dead
It can still see you floating around out there beyond the airlock. And worse, you can still *transmit*
Thank goodness we fortified our democracy to remove that existential threat to our people, allowing a triumphant return to normal of exporting countless working-class jobs to foreign countries while importing millions of migrants to compete with our newly-unemployed citizens
You'd never know because the media ran a 5-year propaganda campaign to deny any hint that what he was doing was working, but by the end he'd cut immigration in half + real working-class wages rose for the first time in two generations
But doing that was a fascism, so out it goes
For all their howling about "privilege," the nation's true privileged class has unanimously realigned to the Media-Migration Complex
There's a reason they see working-class gains as a total nightmare: their identity, + comfort, depend on the illusion they're still pro-"worker"
The elite class has been ideologically captured in a way we haven't seen since the 1930s. Trumpism was a rebuke of this, but a moderate one—an attempt to curb their worst excesses
In response, the elite monoclass went full scorched earth. Which it proved it has the power to do
"Pregnant female fighter pilots are the backbone of our military!" insists the top brass, completely exposing itself
The problem is that once even the top brass is doing naked jumping jacks in front of the window, there's no one left to come and arrest them for indecent exposure
"No brakes on the Trump train!," that was the refrain, but he just wanted to install some brakes on the regime, and they spent five years crucifying him for it
To the point where the regime now labels anyone who says "You know I kind of like brakes" as a domestic terrorist
It implies a sense of finality and commitment that is terrifying to the oversocialized youth that have to constantly update their prior beliefs the second their peer group receives a new ideological update from the same people they keep pretending they're going to guillotine
A huge amount of modern social interaction is about deflecting aggression, come to think of it. This is why we evolved the ability to cry in the first place
Which is why modern politicians spend so much time doing it
Much of the urge to attack Substack is ideological, but a huge amount of it is simple personal ressentiment
Journos understand they are fully replaceable, no one cares about them as *them*, they have no actual insight or voice. We're one GPT update from them all being replaced
Any outlet that lets fun people talk exposes how the journalist is no more than an empty vessel fulfilling a rote function
Journalists are just dimly bright enough to understand they could be replaced by half the students in any undergrad class and not a single soul would notice
When a journalist looks upon someone that people *enjoy* reading, who won't be forgotten the very instant the tab is closed, their mind's eye watches themselves getting depantsed in front of a laughing crowd, over and over
As 21st century data accumulation accelerates, pinning down each of our lives, it's no coincidence that everything feels pre-determined, how if you knew the exact position of every particle at the start of the universe, you could predict its entire future, it's all on guard rails
If politics feels like it's on the exact same guard rails, it's for the exact same reasons
All that we are is measured + known, + can be manipulated through even more subtle pressures. All human desire can be hacked—and hacked all the better as the source code is further derived
But "hacking" is not natural. It's an exploit of the system. The thing is that the system here is the soul
If everything feels thinner, paler, it's for this same reason too: the more that is known, about you, by the rulers, the more they know how to curb the free will
