1. Acceptance

You cannot quit until you accept that you're an addict. Doesn't matter if you smoke one cigarette, drink only on weekends, or do occasional drugs.

If you cannot stop, you're an addict.
2. Understanding

Only after acceptance comes understanding. Understanding is about the "WHY".

Addictions are caused by stress and depression. NO!
Addiction are caused by your thoughts.

When you use anything for a long time, you mind thinks it's necessary for your survival.
3. Thoughts

Your mind associates your addiction with survival. And it uses THOUGHTS as a tool to get it.

Think when you can't get a cigarette, a drink, coke, burger, porn, or play you favorite game.

What happens?

You can't stop thinking about them and start feeling things.
4. Emotions

Mind talks to your body through emotions. When you don't get your 'Thing', the mind makes you feel all kinds of emotions.

- stress
- anxiety
- boredom
- loneliness
- depression

And then you start imagining things.
5. Imagination

Emotions trigger your imagination. Your mind makes you imagine how good you'll feel after having that one cigarette or having a drink or eating one more donut.

It's a lie. An illusion. It's your mind trying to con you.
6. Awareness

Awareness is knowing you mind's bullshit.

Being aware simply means a total acceptance of your circumstances. You don't try to run away, instead:

- If you feel lonely, enjoy it
- If you feel sad, enjoy your sadness
- If you feel like shit, enjoy feeling like shit
7. Detachment

You are not your imagination. Don't act on it.

See it like a passing cloud in the sky. Let it pass.

When you become detached, the bubbles of imagination will start getting smaller and one day they will disappear.
8. Embrace Life

Accept feeling lonely, stressful, anxious, shitty, and bored. Laugh at it, smile and move on.

Because deep in your heart you know, the mind is just playing a game.

And now you have learned to outplay it. You know all its tricks. You know you can win.
And one day, again your mind will ask

β€œIt’s stressful, it’s lonely, it's a lovely weather. Would you like to smoke cigarette, have a drink, watch porn, eat donut, play video game?"

All you need to say is,

β€œNah, I’m good.”
