The loudest critics of apoliticism confound noise with impact. They say, "Hey, look at me, I am tweeting against the state every little chance I get, this makes me more of a patriot than you are." If religion is man's opium, politics is his cocaine.
Not only does it breed inertia but it also triggers a false sense of importance. I remember when Lil Wayne was attacked for perceived indifference to the BLM quest, he said "if you are not willing to go all the way, don't even start". Apoliticism recognizes the powers at play...
Apoliticism is rooted in knowledge & passion. It is very intentional about its pursuits & refuses to partake in a circus of lamentation for propriety's sake. Apoliticism makes do with little, it recognizes its agency above all else. It is not true that apoliticism is indifferent.
It simply avoids the moral positioning of politics & sees it for what it is: a game of interests. If the apolitical must partake in politics, he must be informed, and be able to gain himself and his community by extension. The apolitical makes the best leader. He is impassioned.
This is at the center of Plato's Republic. Socrates argues that the best leader is one that does not court it. If I seek the power I lament, is the power I fault or my lack of it? I fear that the average political pundit is Ibsen's mongrel. He is deprived of oxygen.
The apolitical acknowledge the indispensability of politics. He isn't blind. Politics can't be subverted. It is infinite. Why? Because some men will like eggs better than beef. He does not seek to allay politics. He sees it not as an entity but as a means to an end.
Rather than ventilate, he is like the consummate capitalist, who is privy to the fickleness of democracy, and pursues first that which guarantees invincibility. If democracy fails, he'll pay his way through. The political & apolitical need politics, but for different reasons.
So, how do you get the apolitical to partake in politics? You can't. Threats, shame & virtue-signaling won't do, he is too informed to bite. He is an impassioned man, when his liberties are crushed, he'll go to the streets voluntarily. You can only hope he is compromised sooner.
