The loss of 8 beloved people is an unspeakable tragedy.

It is anti-Asian hatred and white nationalist terrorism that was condoned straight from the top. Donald Trump and others lit up a long simmering hatred and bigotry that has long been a part of this country.
Right now I and millions of others hold space for these innocent people and their loved ones.

It is unspeakably horrible. Truly horrible and will never be understood. Such violence and hate.
Every racist joke, every xenophobic comment, paved the steps to this absolute horror.

We will never be the America some white people think we are until this deep and systemic hatred is gone.
My family’s been worried since President Trump began talking of “the China virus.”

This terrorism is the latest escalation of daily violence against Asian people. It didn’t come from nowhere. It’s not an aberration. It’s been a nurtured project of some very powerful people.

The most outrageous thing is how you’ve acted in response @CarlHeastie
I am not your tool. Do not use me to abdicate for your lack of leadership here. Do better. Be better.
In case you are someone who needs to be brought up to speed about @CarlHeastie reaction to pervasive sexual harassment by our governor - he worries these allegations could fall on him too and that’s informing his response.

Especially glad to be Irish tonight.
Maybe that’s where my skepticism of authority comes from.

Thank you Karen Hinton for courageously sharing your story of how our boss, one of the most powerful men in the country, used his power to abuse you.

I am sending you love. I am with you. We are with you. washingtonpost.com/politics/cuomo…
And to the many other unnamed women interviewed for this article, I see you. I appreciate you. I am with you.

We are with you.
And screw you @PeterAjemian.

You don’t know what happened 20 years ago when you were in middle school or whatever.

Find some integrity. Somewhere. Borrow it from a kindergartner.

I just keep thinking about how this woman contributes to Huffington Post and other publications of repute. @HuffPostWomen I think you should not condone women harassing, belittling and trying to defame survivors as Sandi does.
No, I am not being harsh. I am extremely over watching survivors be harmed so readily. If it happens to me with all the respective privilege and platform I have, think what happens to most women. I’m not going to have this anymore.
Don’t jump on the bandwagon of defaming survivors. It’s not that hard!

Meanwhile most congressional democrats and our new president are tweeting about teaching a man to fish in a crisis and crap like that.

@AOC deserves the credit she gets. It’s not easy to do something in a political world bent on doing nothing.
I said what I said.
No “Uncle Joe,” give people their damn money.

There is no accountability without an independent investigation. No state entity is independent of @NYGovCuomo.

@TishJames can’t even technically hire staff without @NYS_DOB approval. This is run by a staffer appointed by Cuomo and loyal to him, Rob Mujica.
There is literally no independent entity beyond the reach of @NYGovCuomo and @melissadderosa. They have set the state up this way, reinforcing their own power structure and control.

The investigation must be completely independent of the state.
All relevant state agencies should ensure that their general counsels are retaining records, regardless of whatever directives they receive from governor’s chambers. This includes ignoring directives from special counsels embedded in agencies by @LindaLacewell like @GarethRhodes
