Peter Navarro repeatedly used the racist slur “China virus” on CNN in almost every interview he did

He was invited back again and again even though the hosts and producers knew he would keep saying it

Don’t throw your hands up and wonder why anti-Asian discrimination is allowed
This should have been the clearest moment that @NewDay decided Navarro was a proud and stubborn racist and would not be allowed back on TV to encourage anti-Asian discrimination

Instead he was invited back by @JohnBerman five days later as if it never happened
All news outlets happily gave Navarro a platform knowing he would shout “China virus”

Stop pretending it was just Trump who spread anti-Asian discrimination. Anyone who gave a platform to this racist (who also still lies about the election being stolen) knew what they were doing
Real neat interview where Navarro just flat out says “I do blame the Chinese” after suggesting China deliberately unleashed covid on the US and is just allowed to say it all as if this wasn’t a horribly racist smear that contributes to a very specific type of discrimination
The only host who went out of their way to firmly label Navarro a bad actor was @jaketapper after @USATODAY published Navarro’s false smear campaign op-ed against Dr. Fauci

Today @politico is helping an insurrectionist rehabilitate and rewrite history

Rep. Lee Zeldin spread the Big Lie that the election was stolen. After the Jan. 6 attack, he *still* voted to overturn it

Too many in the media are helping Republicans pretend it never happened

It's so demoralizing that every week @ABC actively helps Republicans erase their history of pushing the Big Lie

On Jan. 6 we were told history would remember those who spread the lie that Trump won the election

Now they get top TV slots and it doesn't come up

It never happened
John Barrasso denied that Biden won the election ON DECEMBER 14 when the electoral college certified it

Why wouldn't you mention this? Why wouldn't you ask him "why did you spread the lie" or "will you apologize for lying?"

Instead here he is blaming antifa in Portland
There were plenty of reporters around when Barrasso did this on Dec. 14 by the way. You could have any of them instead of just asking him "you seem like an honest guy, so what's your response to Nancy Pelosi?" and "what do you think about the filibuster?"

On Sunday @ThisWeekABC is platforming a Big Liar, John Barrasso

Barrasso claimed Trump won for seven weeks. On Dec. 14, when the electoral college confirmed the results, he was asked if Biden won and called it a “gotcha question”

@ABC continues helping Republicans erase history
Barrasso is enjoying a rewriting-history rehab tour from media-friendly personalities who offer him their TV show’s platform and don’t even mention that he spent almost two months trying to overturn the election

@jimsciutto was the most recent
A few days before him it was @chucktodd who booked Barrasso on @MeetThePress and completely ignored his very recent history of spreading the racist Big Lie to deceive millions of people into thinking the election was stolen by illegal Black votes

This is an A+ worm-in-your-brain thing for @ABC to publish (it’s just a GOP smear) inadvertently exposing that some morons in the press:
a) miss Trump spreading lies every day and consider that a good thing and
b) think it “raises accountability questions” — yet don’t name them
If you’re just copying what Cillizza writes and adding a few extra quotes it means you’re generating an absurd conflict where none exists, and even midway through your story you admit Biden DID have a press conference but it wasn’t a “formal” one (no tuxedos) so it doesn’t count
The Republican Party is so goddamn good at creating bad-faith outrage and convincing media mooks with the lowest critical thinking skills that it’s a real story

History will not remember the Republicans who told the Big Lie

For 7 weeks John Barrasso tried to overturn the vote. On Dec. 14 he was asked if Biden won and called it a "gotcha"

@jimsciutto put him on air today and didn't mention it once but they did talk about Jim's birthday
All the outrage and fury over Republicans denying the reality that Biden won has completely subsided

This was an egregious intention to spread a lie to overturn the vote — on the day the electoral college certified Biden's win — and it has been erased
Barrasso was on @MeetThePress three days ago. Not one question or mention of how he tried to overturn the election by lying about it being stolen. Not one follow-up on how he called it a "gotcha"

Today @FaceTheNation platformed election denier Ronna McDaniel, who tried to throw out Black votes in Michigan to overturn the election

She was not asked once about her history manufacturing the Big Lie. She was invited to lie about "antifa"

@CBSNews is plainly erasing history
For *10 minutes* McDaniel, a Big Liar, was allowed to lie unchallenged about things like "Hunter Biden"

When she said Democrats should condemn "antifa and antisemitic groups" because they "burned down cities" @margbrennan said "mmhmm"
This came after @margbrennan allowed covid denier Kristi Noem to lie for eight minutes and spread public health misinformation

@FaceTheNation has platformed enough election and covid deniers in the last half hour that it would qualify as a Newsmax show
