I think I have given the Comrades enuff time to defend and asses the budget presentation of #MaasMark so I can speak on it now.

Mark says the GoJ handling of the exchange rate has been poor. In the same breath, lauding the tenure of Peter Phillips as Finance Minister. He has been doing this for a while and during the election debates, claimed the helpers were telling him stories. 🤔

Now, #MaasMark is Oxford educated and very sharp so if he provides less than accurate information it is not because he is benighted, but because he wishes to deceive.

Side by side comparisons of the management of the FX rate by both the JLP and the PNP administration. Important to note that during the best years, US earning from tourism fell by almost USD $3Bn. Makes you wonder what they were doing so wrong.

#MaasMark has been bawling abt the FX rate for some time now and would give the impression that the GoJ management has been worse than the PNPs. But as Nigel said... Facts Matter

As a matter of Fact, the BoJ dividends that have caused Jamaica to be able to respond without the bagga borrowing are as a result of the GoJ policy. Usually, under PNP, the Central Bank makes losses and tax payers foot the bill.

Now, We can pay for vaccines in advance... Pay down debt, Increase social spending and infrastructure cap-ex because of the same policy they criticized. What piss me off is that Mark take everybody for fool or think we born big suh.

So, rather than laud the policy and learn. Mark tells us that the GoJ only has these profits because of the depreciation of the dollar. Now, Since the dollar depreciated by almost 3x MORE under the PNP... We should have gotten over $100Billion in profits from the PNP years... No?

Nothing in these charts, or this thread is news to #MaasMark. Rather, he is politicking to distract from a good policy that is finally paying profits to the people. BOJ is doing two things no PNP Govt was able to do. Keep annual depreciation low and earn Profits.

In 2018 #MaasMark asked if the Central Bank was deliberately weakening the dollar. Again, he knows better. My question is... If at 3.8% devaluation the BOJ is being accused of this... What was the PNP doing 2012-2016 when it was devaluing at 9%???

You raise unemployment and curse that BPOs are not jobs. But back in 2016 your party was very BPO-driven. As I said, the flip-flop when it suits you to fool the people is pandering. One thing bout Manley... Him always tell you wah him think and stick to it. Ask Garvey!

The next time #MaasMark or the PNP cuss abt the employment numbers of cuss BPOs, just remember that this is the same Mark Golding...

Yesterday Mark suggested something that I hope the government ignores! He suggested that we amend the fiscal policy to allow less debt servicing so we can pump more into the budget. This is how we got here in the first place.

He termed it as “taking one step back to take two steps forward” and it seems that when Mark Golding took Omar Davies constituency... He took Omar Davies thinking with it.

The problem with #MaasMark and his one step back approach, is that there is no guarantee of the two steps forward. The only thing sure is the one step back. I mean, what happened to #ForwardEver... #BackwardNever ?

Too many years of hardships and too many sacrifices were made to get here for us to willingly step back with the wish of it being positive as a result. #MaasMark has absolutely no assurance of that. None !
