Several EU countries have suspended the vaccine.

France, Italy and Germany have all halted the rollout over blood clot fears.

So far across the EU and UK, there have been 15 events of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) - and 22 events of pulmonary embolism (PE) reported among those given the vaccine.

💉 Around 17m AstraZeneca vaccines were delivered in that time
That means that the risk of suffering from DVT or a PE after vaccination is 37 in 17m, or roughly one in 460,000

Ursula von der Leyen said "all options are on the table" to boost the EU's stuttering immunisation campaign.

Including moves to halt exports to countries which "have higher vaccination rates than us", including the UK.
She added that while the EU has sent roughly 10 million jabs to the UK, none have been exported from Britain to the European continent
