Pre-firing her for teen tweets she apologized for several times is garbage, but doing it now as reporters are connecting it to a racist murder spree in Atlanta is beyond tactless. Infuriating to watch coward employers reinforce twitter's 'people are disposable' attitude.
Look at this crap. NYT *knows how old the tweets are*. Disgusting to do this to McCammond.
2011: teenaged Alexi makes joke about "Asian eyes" (for which she'd apologize repeatedly).
2021--TEN YEARS LATER--NY Times writes this sentence: "The scrutiny of her tweets has come at a time of heightened concern about violence and harassment directed against Asian-Americans."
I just don't know how you do this to someone. I'm appalled.

Went to pick up a challah someone left for us in their carport and when I got to it a crow was eating it after eating through the bag. Is there any interpretation of that scene that doesn't end in like the earth opening up and swallowing me?
Just want you all to know I've cherished the time we've spent on this hellsite together to prepare me for wherever the crow is taking me next.
My sister made sure the shul auditorium was decorated appropriately so we were the only bris that looked like a Lucky Charms product launch. Happy Green Seventeen!
The kid waited a week past his due date and came out on St. Patrick's Day, with red hair, and corned beef and cabbage is legit his favorite meal. Bethany hadn't even had it until someone made it for us as a baby meal.
In honor of the 6yo's Green 17 bday, here's his baby sister dancing to the Pogues wearing a green romper
What if I told you the allegations of fraud and cover-up regarding the governor's nursing home deaths were not only confirmed but admitted by Cuomo and his team?
Not exactly (we have this discussion every year). These are additional ceremonies for groups who, as individuals, are all part of the main graduation ceremony *as well*. Barnard is considered part of this 'separate' group as well.
Sorry Barnard isn't part of this story but has a separate graduation since it's a college and these groups are also able to have these additional ceremonies within Barnard and the engineering school. All are considered additional and not in place of the main graduation.
One year my sister graduated from Barnard with honors and my uncle finished a doctorate and I think that weekend we went to four ceremonies.
To err is human and I don't want to pile on but this one seems substantial to everyone's understanding of the episode and its aftermath, no?
Yeah the source might've crossed this line. Not like the overarching episode is fundamentally different but a couple of those quotes--'find the fraud' in particular--were narrative-shaping so I'd be pissed at the source.
He could've just asked the head of the cdc, who had been saying that for a while until she joined this admin and had to stay six feet away from science at all times
Look, it's not like the six feet rule was arbitrary. It didn't come from nowhere. But it wasn't the considered opinion of the cdc director, whose judgment we are told to follow closely. Not every dissent from the strictest rule was some tinfoil conspiracy theory.
